Calling it as I see it. Think they need help. What I'm seeing more and more, is the outcome of so many games decided by the officials. Didn't use to be the case, although we've always given refs crap. The game's so much quicker, and played within so many confined, crowded spaces, with quick critical plays.

I don't know what the solution is. Just know that they have an impossible job these days. I agree with you about supporting the human aspect of the game; that's why we love the game. But, the game's changed, and the officials, because they don't have the tools to deal with those changes, have more influence on the outcomes of games as a result.

Totally agree, whether it's video assistance, more refs, more money, better training and fitness for the refs or something else there needs to be a serious look at trying something to improve the refereeing of the PL.

The Chelsea game is the 3rd game I've watched this weekend and every single one of them has had a result changing error from the ref.

It's also mad to expect the refs to be able to keep up with the game when some of them are twice as old as the players out there who are themselves outstandingly fit athletes

Wonderful player but Costa's goal celebration irritated me. He is the man solely responsible for all the press speculation-nobody else. Wonderful footballing intelligence but seems to me to be a total moron in the main.

He seems to have gone off the boil again. He's a good player but massively overhyped.

I actually think he's an incredible footballer, when you watch him it's like he can do what he wants with the ball, has amazing balance, agility and has that low centre of gravity. He has the ability to be one of the best footballers in the world without a doubt, the only thing in question is how he applies that talent IMO. A little bit like Dembele in that sense, actually one of the best players you will see on the ball but doesn't apply that talent as well as he could.

Wenger admits he pushed the fourth official: "I regret everything. I should have shut up and gone home. I apologise for that"

Favourites for sure, but still January! Plenty of time for drama.

Yes there will be some drama no question but turning around a nine point swing from a team which is experienced and used to that pressure is asking a lot.
Now don't get me wrong the pleasure of scaling that and finishing above them would live with me for ages, top four is our realistic aim and finish.

It was a pen, he obstructed Koscielney illegally from having a legitimate chance at goal...but it was offside anyway.

Both players are looking at the ball, not each other. Koscielny still makes a complete pig's ear of the chance by making such a shit contact and heading the ball straight down. The defender doesn't even make contact with Koscielny's head/face, his boot catches his shoulder after Koscielny has headed the ball. Koscielny then throws himself on the floor clutching his face. It's not a penalty at all, but that debate should be irrelevant because Koscielny is clearly offside with the linesman directly in line with a completely unobstructed view. It's an absolutely pathetic decision to not flag it.
