My cousin in Washington DC sent me this link to an article in the New York Times about the increasingly defensive mindset in the PL, which it attributes largely to there being six markedly superior teams now, instead of one or two.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/02/sports/soccer/premier-league-top-six.html?_r=1

I totally agree with that, the teams are parking the bus and maybe it is the fear of relegation and the potential loss of millions despite parachute payments that is the peculiar thinking behind this.

I noticed the other day that only the top seven teams in the PL had a positive GD. Strange phenomenon.

I can't see anything from anyone about the Jake Livermore incident:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42549246

Went into the crowd after a West Ham fan when he was substituted.

Almost certainly some absolute scumbag shouting some kind of abuse about his son, I can't imagine it being anything else, and I absolutely can imagine a Spammer being that sick. Pardew's comments suggest the same.

Hope if it turns out that someone has said something like that to him that he's let off with a slap on the wrist and the fan is both banned for life from all football and charged by the police.

VIDEO (sorry to link to The Sun but it was the best quality I could find without being plastered with adverts):

Some people are so sick! Why on earth would anyone say that to someone?
I seem to remember seeing a post a few years back that suggested Livermore’s family weren’t the sort of family you wanted to mess with. Hopefully the scumbag’s name is in the papers soon and he gets a little visit

Yeah. He looks like a fucking cartoon character.

Speaking of cartoon characters... Zaha, he looks like a cartoon character. There's something about him, big eyes and hair, face looks like it's been drawn or computer generated.

Developing into a top player though. Would've been great if we managed to get him.

I know people say 'all teams have their scumbags' and stuff like that, but this is where I honestly believe we're a different breed than West Ham and Chelsea and certain other teams.
If I heard a fellow Spurs fan say something like that, Jake Livermore wouldn't even have the chance to confront the bloke because he would've been knocked clean out in an instant.
Sub human, utter scum.

Just a warm up for the Cockapoo Cup semis.

I'll be happy for a nice 0-0 draw, multiple sendings off and a lightning walk out strike by London Underground staff at 7.30
