They've played Palace and West Ham, they should always be beating these.

A soft start for Liverpool, similar to ours

Beaten both easily. We've played New and Fulham and struggled in both games.

I love pace up front and they have it in Salah and Mane, hopefully Moura will be our revelation this season.

I was in the middle of The Kop that day. And for the next win as well.

I watched the youtube of the highlights yesterday. Great day apart form the Liverpool fans. Stoned our bus on the way back and dropped bricks on the supporters club train from bridges.
The only season in my time supporting Spurs that I genuinely thought we would win the league.

Felt VVD, Gomez & Alisson all played quite well and they looked more solid defensively than I normally give them credit for.

By no means a convincing win and before the dodgy pen they didn’t really look like scoring but a professional solid win

Don't agree with the view that this performance shows Liverpool are not in the title race. Palace will take points from the Top 4 this year. Allison looks solid and made one cracking save from a freekick that shows they've improved there. Keita looks quality. Their full-backs are quality (if young).

Exactly the type of performance and result that shows they ARE in it with City imo. And they should be given what they brought in.

The only time I saw trouble up there was in 1973 - the UEFA Cup semi final 1st leg.

It wasn't the Liverpools fans that started it. It was a load of scallies - who weren't even at the match but waiting in the flats at Scotland Road, they started lobbing bricks and bottles but ended up getting battered themselves.

So the world keeps talking about a Man Shitty v Liverscum title race and only seemingly talks about those two

ID LOVE IT FUCKING LOVE IT if we slip in behind like how I wanna slip in behind Kelly Brook and win this damn League,

klopp's trolling surely.......

"I don’t know a lot of centre-backs in the world who can deal with Christian Benteke like Virgil van Dijk did tonight."

it's easy jurgen. you just point him towards goal and let him fall over or fire the ball towards the corner flag. VVD the 'best in the world' hahahaha, do me a favour. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Yeah Liverpool weren’t lucky imo. They weren’t scintillating either, just a professional away performance at a tough ground.

Kept Zaha very quiet and although I hate to admit it, Van Dyke was good. Pretty much unbeatable in the air. Can’t really argue he has improved them defensively.

They’ll need to be better defensively this season because Salah isn’t going to score 40 goals again

it's not so much that Pool was that bad, it was just that they rode their luck at times tonight and City are just that much better than the rest of the league.

Christ to think we were once looking at Benteke :(
I think he's Palaces weakest link to be honest.
They'd be quite a good team with Townsend, Zaha and someone who can actually bloody score.
Zaha was class tonight. Ran his arse off.

This may be the year where they finish above us.

Lets see.

He's obviously not saying he's the best in the world. Lovren is clearly the best in the world.

Sunday 7th October: Liverpool Vs Man City

I can see someone like Fernandinho sticking a season-ending 'reducer' on Salah and a 22+ man brawl breaking out

And Sergio Ramos watching on TV thinking, "Yeah, good tactic, that..."

It's going to be an interesting game

VVD the best CB in the world? What on Earth are sky sports smoking?!

Whatever they're smoking it seems to be having a terrible effect up in scouseland...

Not just the best defender I've seen at Liverpool, he's levels above. He's a level above every other top defender in the league to be fair.

Best defender in the world without a doubt. Worth every penny and now feels like a bargain. City and Chelsea must be ruing the fact that he chose us over them.

He's like a cheat code. And then we've signed an even bigger cheat code in goal.

Can anyone remember a better CB display by anyone in the league last season? I don't think so.

*from RAWK in case you were wondering ;)

I'm sure this guy watched all 20 teams' matches in full to fairly compare defensive displays.

Even though the so called expert pundits are prematurely pronouncing the title race to be a two horse race, what will they say about Liverpool, if they finish second, lose to City in the Semi Final of the FA Cup and they beat the eventual winners of the Champions League over two legs in the group stages ?

When we did that we are referred to by the pundits as bottle jobs and our players are all set to jump ship either imminently or in the longer term.

They win a couple of games, with good, if not spectacular performances and hey ho, they are pronounced as having the best CB in the world.

It's one rule for them with the pundits and media bollocks talkers and another for us.
And do you hear the Spammers banging on about them like a broken record saying , Liverpool fans think their club are far better than they are in reality.
