Love it, Spurs winning is the only thing in football better than seeing Arsenal lose.

Would love the slow decline of that shitty club to continue for years.

All positives from this game - scum lose first two games and we find out both these teams are rotten at defending.

That was a weird, weird game with what was in the end a deserved outcome.

Chelsea first. You can see they have a plan when in possession and in that respect I think Sarri's got through to them very quickly. They absolutely pissed on Arsenal for the first 25 minutes and you sat there thinking they could score double figures. Sarri's been clever in allowing Alonso to still bomb forward when a Chelsea player wins the ball, as Azpilicueta shifts in to create a back three in defence in those times. Gives them options and shows Sarri isn't totally locked into a rigid 4-3-3.

Yet Arsenal could've (should've?) scored five by half time. The space between Alonso and Luiz was exposed umpteen times and they couldn't stop it. The exact same cut back was performed an unbelievable number of times and it was equally unbelievable to see supposed top players miss almost open goals time and again.

Both managers made moves to rectify the shambolic defending at half time but Chelsea were definitely better and their play deserved it overall.

Arsenal lack a coherent plan. They had the cutbacks, and what else exactly? Guendozi/Xhaka were completely overrun and Torreira in might fix that problem in the long term but certainly didn't in the minutes he got today. Sokratis/Mustafi is lumbering to the extreme, Cech doesn't instill an ounce of confidence any more and Bellerin has completely forgotten how to defend. I think they will concede a lot of goals this season.

All (mostly) good news for us then.

So I looked up this Ozil guy that everyone keeps mentioning

Apparently he's been at Arsenal for a while and has actually played for Real Madrid in the past (unless someone is trolling wikipedia)

I just never really noticed him before; incredible how certain players fly under the radar

Opening 2 games, 2 wins for us 2 loses for the arse.
Has that ever happened before? Growing up in the 90s it happened 2/3 times a season if we were lucky.
Times are a changing ?

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but I think both the starting line-ups at Stamford Bridge contained only one British player : Ross Barkley.

Arse had Ramsey (used) and Welbeck on the bench.

Yep, that's right. One of 22 starters and three of 36 overall including the benches were British. It's not a great look.

Someone is definitely trolling.

Mesut Özil (German pronunciation: [ˈmeːzut ˈøːzil], Turkish: [meˈsut ˈøzil]; born 15 October 1988) is a German professional footballer who plays for English club Arsenal. He is considered to be one of the best players in the world.[4][5][6]

Let's not get carried away. We've played Newcastle and Fulham. They've played Man City and Chelsea.

didn't see the game, just the short highlights - Chelsea looked good going forward but crap at the back.
Goons, crap at the back, good build up play, shit finishing (mostly) - right?

The fact that City can put out such a strong team and still have Mahrez, Sane, Walker and Sterling on the bench is ridiculous. Not to mention De Bruyne isn't even in the picture.

I'm sorry but when I see that I just don't think City winning the league is that great, I mean what do you expect with that. I know they play football that makes it look like men against boys a large majority of the time but still.... That's incredibly hard to compete with.
