Hughes and Jokanovic should both be gone in the next week. Let's see if either of their clubs dare to do it.

The easiest way out for the owners is to swap managers. They won't dare try anything else. That's the reason why they are where they are.

Everton are such a strange team, have some good ingredients but can be so useless still. I mean they're holding their own now but that's without actually being able to construct anything.

With the players they have and the pace in particular in Richalison, Walcott and Bernard as well as the craft with Sigurdsson in the middle you'd think they'd offer so much more going forward.

Chelsea very much a team of moments much like us. Everton standing strong though which is nice to see. Id still bet on chelsea cheating the ball into the net at some point. Gomez seems to be settling in nicely, very composed and a good player to transition once they pinch it back.

The Everton player isn't even tall enough to reach his face :ROFLMAO: Somehow Rudiger went from skull fracture to broken jaw to perfectly fine when he realised he was getting booked as well

The easy way to stop anyone moaning about bad decisions is to reduce the bad decisions.

VAR isn't perfect but it gives the refs a chance to see the different angles. Kane away to PSV and Austin yesterday would have surely been given. Watford should have had a penalty as well. Sterling shouldn't have had a penalty for City in midweek. Now this, either it's offside or the ball is moving, both, or it's offside and Liverpool score. That decision means it could be 0-0, 1-0 or 0-1 there.

I have been opposed to VAR but in the world cup the whole system impressed me and, like you say, it isnt perfect but it will be over a period of time.

Whether the ball was slightly rolling or not rolling or whether it was on the line or not on the line - does it really make any difference. would the outcome have been different? Now Austins goal was a huge error but todays wasnt

On a separate but related point, I would say is there is way too much emphasis on the mistakes referees make. Our goal against PSV should never have been disallowed and we are right to question it but the emphasis really should be on us messing the game up, not taking our chances and making silly mistakes (which ironically we are hammering the refs for doing)

Not sure I get your meaning.

Yeah it makes a difference. Either it stays 0-0, Fulham take the lead 1-0 or Liverpool go ahead 1-0. Big difference. It changes how they play afterwards. It changes how Liverpool play. Just because a game finishes 2-0 and a goal is disallowed early on doesn't mean it would have been 2-1. Anything could have happened. Goals change games. Not getting them when you should also changes games.

Same as Kane's goal. That was a chance, which was taken, and not given. Having a goal advantage in a nervy game does have an impact on the rest of it.

A lot of the top teams seem to be making the tactical niggly fouls which we've been doing for the last few seasons now. City have become excellent at it too.

Sorry; I meant the outcome of that move which lead to the Salah goal. If the ball was dead before Alison played it, would the outcome of that particular move have been so different? I dont think so personally.

By the way I dont think we can blame the ref for not spotting the moving ball, in that situation most eyes were on the Assistant Referee. Yesterdays decision and the Kane one - they were disgraceful decisions and bigger consequences.

That was so useless from Bernard there. The game is more open but at least as a result Everton are now offering at least something of a threat. Got away with one there.

Depends. The defender tries to play Salah offside because he's too far forward and can't get back. The three players were still celebrating. They all switched off, definitely. An extra few seconds may have helped some of them (not the forwards) get back into position. Still though, the game has rules. Sol Bamba didn't get a yellow card yesterday for taking his shirt off in celebration because the ref asked him and he said no (https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/46165055). Demarai Gray for Leicester the week before does and is booked.

The problem, VAR or not, has always been inconsistency.

They're steadily improving as the season wears on.
