How mental is it that it's seen as an injustice that Sissoko isn't in the team of the year?
Such an impressive turnaround.

Sissoko has improved and helped us a lot this season but for me it doesnt justify to be in the TOTY just because he was shit before and now everyone is surprised. He still has no end product offensively nor is he defensively doing a job like Kante in the past to justify a nomination.

The only one of our side I would have picked in the TOTY is probably Sonny.

The suggestion was that he's more worthy of a nomination than that clown Pogba.
Don't let that stop you having a dig at one of our players though.

I personally think Vertonghen is as worthy of a nomination as Laporte is, and I agree about Sonny.

A dig? Really? Because I don't judge something in tinted Spurs glasses?

Personally I probably would not have picked Pogba in my TOTY but to be fair he was immense at times and has 13 goals and 9 assists in his bag as a CM (Even though there were some penalties). That is still really decent tbf. I think there were more ridicoulous nominations in the past.

Jan would be deserved as well I agree.

But Sissoko has been MOTM in the majority of games no?

Maybe he was and I would never disagree that he is playing a very good season for us and helped us in lots of games with his qualities.
When I need to think of one Sissoko moment of the season though, the Liverpool miss is always first in my mind.

Our performances in the whole were nearly never that convincing and it was more about grinding out the results. Which is fine in the end if you reach the CL. But neither Sissoko no really one of the others (bar Son with match winner qualities and Jan, mostly rock solid at the back) have made that impression to walk into TOTY.
Just my opinion.

And honestly I couldn't care less who is in that team or not. :D

Definitely Hazard....I hate him but he should be in with his stats.

Then what about Sons stats?

His statistics compare very favourably those of players with greater reputations. Look, for example, at how he measures up against Sterling.

He scores more Premier League goals per 90 minutes than Sterling (0.7 to 0.62), and he has 20 goals in 41 games in all competitions this season, while Sterling has 21 in 43.

They also have uncannily similar records for their clubs; Sterling has 63 in 182 matches (0.35 goals per game), while Son has 67 in 180 (0.37).

Sterling leads Son in assists this season, yet not by much: Sterling has 11 in the Premier Leagueand Champions League, while Son has seven.

They both have very strong passing statistics, with both of them completing in the 85 percent range in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Agreed, that is one boring team of the season. They should at least try to look at players from teams like Wolves, Watford etc who have been really good even if they won't win anything in the end.

Think there should be a limit on how many players get in from one club and a minimum of appearances. A few Wolves lads deserve a mention. FA Cup semi and potential 7th place finish after getting promoted. Insane. Neves, Jiminez, Doherty, Jota etc. all deserve an honourable mention in my opinion.

As for us, Son should be in there. Vertonghen perhaps as well.

Pogba has not done enough to be in there. I can see why the rest even if it is over the top on numbers, top two teams points within each other fighting for the title playing the best football in the country.

Yup.

The team doesn't really mean anything, but it would at least get some recognition to players that normally don't get any.

hope huddersfield kick the shit out of the scousers tonight. hope it goes battle royale from the first whistle, a 3-0 concession isn't going to mean anything to huddersfield at his point anyway.

The most important thing is that Hudd keep the score down. City need the goal difference
City are 8 goals ahead....I very much doubt it'll come down to GD.
I can see them both taking 9 points personally.

More chance of shagging Rachel Riley tonight than Liverscum losing or even dropping any points in this game.
