So last night saw the start of the new PDC Premier League season.
Newcomers Dave Chisnall and Peter Wright both came flying out of the blocks with victorys, but perhaps the biggest surprise of the night was Peter Taylor being battered into submission by Michael Van Gerwen. Wasn't even a close match as MvG pulled off a magnificent 7-0 win (which leaves Taylor bottom of the table!).
Raymond Van Barneveld also had a corker of an opening match, averaging 108 as he beat Gary Anderson, while Adrian Lewis hammered Simon Whitlock 7-1.

Results:

Dave Chisnall 7-5 Robert Thornton
Peter Wright 7-3 Wes Newton
Raymond van Barneveld 7-2 Gary Anderson
Michael van Gerwen 7-0 Peter Taylor
Adrian Lewis 7-1 Simon Whitlock

I even managed to get darts fan Andros Townsend to reply to one of my tweets!!
Asked him who he thought would win out of Taylor & MvG. He said he was sitting on the fence and going for a draw....... VERY wrong!!!

Absolutely great night. Barney looked strong and as you say Taylor got torn apart by Van Gerwen.

Van Gerwen is going to dominate darts a bit like Taylor has. It was like the passing over of the baton yesterday.

Taylor has made mistake of changing darts, moving away from Unicorn to Target. Seems he hasn't adjusted to them just yet.

First UK Open Qualifying tournament today in Wigan and again a couple of interesting matches/results.
Taylor has had a bad 24 hours, getting knocked out in the second round by some random youngster (he got a bye in the first).
The 2nd round also saw current BDO World Champion Stephen Bunting (who has now moved to the PDC) take on PDC World Champion MvG..... Needless to say, MvG won!

I forgot to do a wk 2 roundup!!!
In summary, Phil Taylor lost to Adrian Lewis, so that was back to back Premier League defeats for "The Power"

On to week 3, which took place last night.
Another poor evening for Taylor who this time lost 7-4 to "Snakebite" Peter Wright. Was the first time Wright has EVER beaten Taylor, who still look a shadow of his former self. The difference in the game being the number of 140 scores between the two, with Wright hitting 15 compared to on a handful by Taylor.

In other matches, MvG won his 3rd match out of 3, beating Dave Chisnall 7-4.
Adrian Lewis was somewhat surprisingly beaten 7-2 by Wes Newton, with Lewis blaming his poor performance on man flu!
Raymond van Barneveld beat Simon Whitlock 7-4, while Roberton Thornton thumped Gary Anderson 7-2.

So after 3 weeks, MvG stops the table with maximum points and a leg difference of +12
At the other end, both Simon Whitlock and Phil Taylor share bottom spot with 0 points from 3 games and both with a leg difference of -14.
