Ok. I'll admit to going slightly early on this one but I'm looking forward to next season already. Understandable after the way we just finished the last one. And with the whole Wembley thing added in the morning that I plan my following year has added spice. Fingers crossed our first game is at home, playing Chelsea in the Community Shield. After that do we finally get first or last home league games of the season now that we have finished above that other lot who normally get preferential treatment? Away to Brighton would be a nice trip if I can get a ticket, unlikely. Same applies to a potential trip to Huddersfield and a short stroll to Vicarage Road, such is the glamour of my life. Who has the leaked fixtures days in advance? And where will we wrap up the title in early April?

one of my favorite days of the summer. being in the States, I can usually only get over once per season (3 Spurs matches at most). Obviously, no final decisions can be made until European group stage fixtures come out ... but this is when things first begin to take shape.

Shits all over deadline day for me as I know it's a meaningful day no matter what happens. Planning holidays and anniversaries around it and still there's usually something that gets in the way despite people knowing me and how I work. Last season was the first one in a long time that I didn't miss a home game. Would like to continue that next season.

I know we don't have the fixtures yet but do we know when the new season starts? Seems to me we have had a late finish to the season so is the new season starting a little later?

If anything it'll start/finish early because of the WC.

Scheduled to start 12th of August, but could have the first game moved forward to the 11th for TV. Also note that if Chelsea win the FA Cup we'll play them in the Community Shield on the 6th.

Interesting choice of date...

In most years, the Glorious Twelfth is a term used to refer to 12 August, the start of the shooting season for red grouse. The shooting season always ends in December.

In 2017, the Glorious Twelfth will be a term used to refer to 12 August, the start of the spouting season for red scouse. The spouting season usually ends by mid-January.

The Premier League has never started on the 12th before...

World Cup starts on June 14th, Champions League final is May 26th, so the Premier League season will probably finish May 13th, which doesn't give much scope for a late start.

Would make a nice change! We've definitely been discriminated against over the years IMHO.

I have my suspicions the fixture list isn't as random as suggested .which I think most adhere to .coincedence both us and West Ham had Man U as a last game I think not .Anyways hopefully like West Ham we will have lower cat games for start of season .Police have got enough on their plate at moment .sure they'd rather we had likes of Burnley and Brighton as first few games than Chelsea or arsenal .

That's because it's not particularly random. There's a huge range of factors going in. Teams can't be scheduled to have more than 3 home or away games in any given set of five and can't be at home on the same weekend as another team. They try not to have teams travelling large distances midweek or on bank holidays. There's local factors that influence things - for instance they won't generally put a match in the same city as Conservative Party Conference at the same time because there's likely to be protests around that. Teams can then add in extra requests - last season for instance we asked to finish with an away game so that WHL could be knocked down a week earlier, whereas this time around the Trust is suggesting we'll ask to avoid home midweek games to minimise transport difficulties at Wembley. That extends to teams not even in the league too - Dagenham and Redbridge ask for West Ham to be away when they're at home because otherwise their attendance drops. The end result is that once all of this is factored in there are noticeable patterns across seasons even once you leave the computer to do the remaining 'random' bit.

whatever happens with the fixtures we very rarely start off with a home fixture, and in the last 9 years we haven't played Liverpool at their place in the period of the 1st 19 games, and we always seem to have a tougher finish than the sky 4.

with Liverpool i also believe they seem to play most of the top teams at home in the 2nd half of the season, the season befre the one just gone they played us, Arse, Chelsea, both Manc's and even Everton all away in the 1st half

We normally play Arsenal in October/November and then again March/April. Never too random.

I want a few 'easier' games at Wembley first to get ourselves settled, then we can start our procession to the league title
