An early issue with Tottenham's Wembley fixture list, their home match with Burnley on 26 August is on the same day as the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final. The club say there are in discussion with the Clarets over an alternative date.

Which means we'll have to play a team who don't like to keep the ball on the floor the day after a rugby match has kicked the pitch up to shit.

6 opponents after CL games are Swansea, Huddersfield, Liverpool, Crystal Palace, WBA and Stoke. Only Huddersfield are away.

It's about as good as you can possibly hope for.

The games before the CL group games are quite the opposite though...

There's fuck all random about the premier league fixtures.

There is no pretense that the fixtures are random. My understanding is that there is an initial random generation, and then varying factors (avoiding clubs from the same area playing at home on the same day, police concerns, long away trips midweek etc) are taken into account and accommodated where possible.

The fixtures aren't random and haven't been for a long time - that's not the same as saying that they are biased in favour of any team, which they clearly aren't; fans just see what they want and ignore anything that contradicts them. Yeah we're away on the first day of the season, we're also at home following five of our six CL group games. Yeah we've got United, Liverpool and Arsenal in a row, that means we've got long runs of games against sides we should be beating.

Didn't Burnley agree to switch a home and away fixture with Liverpool last season so Liverpool could get 3 away games in a row? Hopefully they do the same with us.

Liverpool switched because of the development to their stand.

Pretty certain Burnley game will go to Sunday .neither club will want to play catch up on fixtures .especially us with possible congestion .Think pitch would be fine they play 3 play off games in 3 days .
