Anyone catch this last night? Didn't know he had turned us down before going onto manage Chelsea (albeit, only as he had already given his word). Also sad that he said that his time managing Spurs was the unhappiest period he spent as a manager. Mainly due to the politics at the club and the sense of being blocked with transfer targets (sound familiar?). Some interesting insights on time with England too. Remember being at his last game (I think). A 3:1 defeat at home to Southampton. Beattie from a corner for starters. The big lump. Speaking of such, did think Glenn was carrying a bit of timber at the time too, but, following revelations, understand this was just comfort eating.

What channel?

One of my GOAT's, but he's a bit up himself as a manager, and hasn't really been a particularly insightful pundit. Still, one of our own.

he done my brain in with his interview this morning on talksport. he made it sound like the players would be happier winning the CoC then finishing in the top 4, and that the club should concentrate on winning a trophy, instead of wasting it's time getting in the CL as we are not on a level to compete.

I agree after watching last night Barca are on a different level, but our top players would want out if we wasn't in the CL, and our stadium would take a lot longer to pay off without it. he mentioned about playing in the Europa if we don't get out of our group, but if that happens our players might want to go for it big time and after the exit the other year when it 1st meant winning it would mean a CL place even Poch might take it more serious.

Yeah heard that as well. If we won the league and fa cup but finished 5th he’d be back on talksport saying our players need to move on and play in champ league.

Along with an army of expros all saying the same thing. Probably chucking in that we don’t pay them enough either. Although that narrative seems to have vanished
