Have read across a few threads people questioning the apparent slipping back of Prince in the pecking order. While he did look very good alongside Jenas for that run of matches I feel that Ramos is just disciplining him a bit at the moment so that he does not get ahead of himself. A couple of key moments for me were in the Arsenal game when he got booked and took a wasteful shot with others in better positions. The hook was out pretty quickly and off he came. This is man management and I'm sure that Ramos would have seen many head strong gifted youngsters before. We have many in and around our squad at the minute. Prince, Lennon, Huddlestone, O'Hara, Tabaart and Kaboul to name just a few. Opportunity comes at a price and Ramos seems to have it right at present and he is keeping them all interested.

I think at the moment KBP should only be given playing match time coming off the bench. not ready to start prem or UEFA matches yet, unless he has to!

Early thoughts on team for Reading

Ramos seems to have been giving some of fringe guys a bit of encouragement. Perhaps at home against Reading would be a good opportunity to give Taarabt a start.....a rest for Lennon might be the way to go for this game. I would be surprised if Ledley backed up so soon, not that he is injured but clearly he is a player who needs to be managed like Paul Mcgrath was at Utd a few days rest earned to recover.
Ramos seems to like O'Hara and has accomodated him somewhere for several games now. Lee did not impress me against Fulham and a start at left back would not be outrageous for O'Hara especially the way he can cross form that side.
Surely Defoe merits a start in one of the next two matches, I'd make it the Reading one.
That all said I would go with:
-----------Robbo
Chimbonda Dawson Kaboul O'Hara
Taababt Huddlestone Jenas Malbranque
Defoe Berbatov
Sub: Cerny, Keane, Prince, Lee, Lennon

The lad is young, developing and maybe he felt it was the perfect game for Huddlestone, after all Boateng's primary job against the Arse was the break up play, not neccessarily create things, we wanted to create lots against Fulham.

He's easing him in plus there are 3-4 other decent players in his position. Time will tell as to if he will develop into the player we are looking fior.

One thing I'm very happy with, is his positive effect on team morale. Little things like getting stuck in, making the right noises in the media, even the hand shaking with Hudd after his goal yesterday. Seems to have a good attitude.

I think Ramos knew we could get away with a less physical/athletic midfield yesterday and he got it spot on.

If JJ is fit he'll be straight back in the team against Reading and I wouldn't be surprised to see KPB alongside him as Reading's midfield is relatively combative so will need people to put their foot in.

It's horses for courses and at the moment Wendy is getting it right.

KPB has done well in the games he has started and i think he is just glad now that Juande is giving him first team chances. Also when THUDD who was in the team ahead of him yesterday scored his first, KPB made a point of shaking his hand, good lad. Cult hero in the making imo

It's all about options and the opposition.

No favourites, just the right player for the right situation.

This is why Ramos is moving us FORWARD.

Future cult hero, future captain (maybe) anything is possible.

Exciting times for the squad with O'hara, KPB, Bale, Taraabt, Kaboul, Huddlestone, & the other players yet to emerge/sign.

Team selection hasn't been this interesting in years.

I like KPB and hope to c more of him in the coming weeks. ramos likes him too and i think he knows he has to man manage him and treat him with a bit more TLC than most of the squad. He has the potential to explode onto the scene with his temperament.
