Llorente and Vorm both need to be replaced with homegrown players. There are roughly 4,931 English strikers that could do what Llorente does for us. I'm tired of hearing about the homegrown quota.

Agree, the original poster imo got Vertonghen wrong and imo hopefully eriksen wrong. However the squad(not the first 11) is needing a huge rebuild.

We are due to get rid of:
Llorente
Janssen
Nkoudou
Wanyama
Vorm
One of Trippier or Aurier

Meanwhile these players future's dont look secure
Alderweireld
Dembele
Rose(given injury record)

Its not crazy to think we will lose 8 players this summer, now other than Toby, it won't effect our first 11 as we have been without a lot of these players this season. We will need to rebuild our squad regardless

The only 3 of significance that may leave the club in the next 7 months are Toby dembele eriksen. Dembele we basically know will go and a replacement will be bought. The other 2 fingers crossed. But if anyone of significance leaves they will be replaced. The club is bigger than any player.*

*Apart from Kane eriksen dele and Son ?

Saying that I think it will be a busy 7 months my guesses who will leave are one of trippier/Aurier Alderweireld Vorm wanyama dembele llorente Nkoudou janssen Onomah Ccv. And I’d guess 4 or 5 in.

Players like Nkoudou, Janssen, Vorm Onomah, CCV and arguably Llorente don’t need replacing since they are barely part of the squad . They are just dead wood.

So as others have said we are talking about Alderweireld, Wanyama, Dembele and Eriksen. Last season showed that Sanchez and Verts are a more than adequate pairing , with Foyth and Dier as back up. One high level CD of course would not go amiss even if it meant selling Dier. We also have Davies who has shown he can play there.

With the re emergence of Winks and the promise of Skipp and the better than expected Sissoko I think one midfielder will be enough to replace Dembele and Wanyama. I am discounting Dier as a midfielder because I don’t think he is good enough in that role .Maybe Berge .

The biggest question mark is Eriksen. He is almost irreplaceable . Unless of course Barca want to sell us Coutinho in P/X who hasn’t burnt up any trees there. Don’t see it though. At one time at the start of this season I thought Lamela was a viable alternative but his injury problems are never ending. Maybe Madison could be a candidate . Or we could sell Eriksen to Real and bring back Modric who still has at least 2-3 high level years in him. Personally I think Eriksen will stay if Poch does.

Son can continue to cover for Kane. But we should also add a young striker from a lower league or abroad who is happy to be that alternate back up.

There's no real need to panic about it...

Dembele - Hardly played this season, but we could do with a replacement.
Vertonghen - No suggestion that he wants to leave.
Toby - We probably bought Sanchez as his replacement. We'd probably need to buy another young CB with potential.
Eriksen - If he goes he will be difficult to replace. There's no getting away from it.
Llorente - Barely features for us. Probably wasted here. Easily replaced considering how little game time he gets.
Vorm - Should be easy to find a new 3rd choice keeper
Nkoudou, Jansen - No need to replace them.
Wanyama - Could be ok after surgery. We've coped without him this season.
Aurier/Trippier - We already have KWP to replace one of these guys.

Two adages from my old Mum
1) Wear the old ones out first
with reference to any request
for something new.

2) Have you searched your pockets
and looked down the back of the sofa?

I think she had the Academy in mind.

I'm sure many people thought it would be impossible to replace King and Modric and Bale, but here we are with a team competing at a higher level than those teams of the past.

The thought of replacing Eriksen is certainly a daunting one but is by no means beyond us. Remember that we managed to buy Eriksen in the first place. He has become a world class player during his time at Spurs for sure, but there's nothing that says we can't unearth the next emerging Eriksen or that we won't be able to buy a more established player in his position.

I think it would be a huge shame if Toby leaves but we have already had a season of Sanchez playing ahead of Toby anyway so I don't think that's too much of an emergency. We will need extra cover if he leaves, but I don't think we would need to buy a 50m CB or anything like that.

We've got one of the best "cores" that we've had for a very long time, and in theory the new stadium will be an added incentive for top quality players to stay/join so we are looking at the best position of recruitment that we've had for a long time. It's a challenge for sure, but not something that we need to worry about in my opinion.

The only people I think we can’t replace are kane and Pochettino everyone else, could be replaced with good signings

how much are we looking at for eriksen with one year left on his contract? 60m?

vertonghen's situation seems to have flown under the radar too, no different to alderweireld's except that there's no release clause come the summer. it probably wouldn't be worth it to us to sell a 32 year old so will probably walk free at 33, by which time sanchez and foyth will hopefully be ready as 1st choice pairing going forward.
Both right footed so hopefully not, a decent left footer is what we need to replace / cover Verts.

I need a pillow and a bottle of liquid morphine

Seriously you don't, liquid morphine (full strength stuff) is the most disgusting thing ever. After my dad died me and a couple of mates decided to have a little drinky of his morphine. Never been as sick in my life.
All 3 of us were ill for 3 days.
