Levy was asked about our season away and sarcastically said that Brady wouldn't share the OS with us. He reiterated his commitment to staying in London and that Wembley was our first choice, with a restriction of not opening up the top tier and having the attendance around 50k.

He said that he was commuted to fair fan prices, but the stadium has to be paid for via a number of revenue streams. He spoke passionately about keeping our loyal supporters.

Levy when asked about the NFL said that we haven't been given a big cheque, just that they had committed to play a minimum number of games at the new stadium, and we would work closely with them to build our and their brand.

Levy said that the stadium had be designed with atmosphere in mind and that like minded supporters who want chant would be kept together.

Hugo and Poch spoke about how the fans can be a 12th man when they are behind the team. Hugo said that he loves how close the fans are to the pitch and Poch said that he 'feels the love' from the fans.

Levy spoke about all the fans clamouring for a defensive midfielder over the summer and Poch said that he was convinced that he could turn Dier into a effective DM, and that he only wanted a midfielder of a special player was available. Levy kept saying that this was Poch's skill and is why we were doing so well.

On selling and buying players... Levy was adamant that no business occurs unless the footballing side of the management are happy with the decision and Poch backed this up, and spoke about his good relationship with Levy.

On Bale/Modric and keeping our best players... Levy spoke about the difficulties in keeping players when they want to leave. He said we refused to sell Modric and that when Madrid were interested, we owed it to Luka to let him go, he said that AVB felt that he couldn't get Luka back to his best of he didn't want to be at the club. Levy said that we would've rejected any amount of money for Bale, but the coaching staff felt that the player wouldn't maintain his performance level with Madrid interested. He said the coaching staff agreed he should go.

Levy spoke about how difficult it was to keep players when agents are forcing a move away. Poch rambled on about team spirit and why a dressing room needs to be a positive environment.

Someone asked about the Paris attacks and whether we will be tightening security at the new ground, Levy said that we are always in contact with police about making sure our security is the best it can be.

Poch and Hugo said that Son is a massive joker (which they didn't expect) and has 'clever humour', Walker was mentioned as being a joker too.

Levy said that we would definitely be selling naming rights of the new stadium and it won't be WHL, he said it is a huge project that we must finance without jeopardising the playing squad.

Someone asked about Arsenal struggling to but players when they were paying off the stadium. Levy batted it away saying that we plan to finance the stadium with multiple revenue stream and it won't effect our commitment to improving the playing squad.

Hugo said his hero growing up was Pete Sampras and Poch said his father was his hero and his footballing hero was Maradona, but not off the pitch. Poch said Levy will be his hero when he signs him some players in January.

Poch said winning the league is possible and is what the fans deserve, but they take one game at a time and won't be getting ahead of themselves.

Can't think of much else... Poch was hilarious and kept cracking jokes, it was clear that Levy and Poch get on well, and they kept talking up that they share the ambition for the club and they will all work together to achieve it.

Was a fun evening, shame the time was taken up with some questions that were either too sensitive to give finite details or rhetorical 'of course we want to sign the best players/keep our stars/win the league'

Cheers for the info.

Poch's hero is his dad! Isn't our gaffer just the cutest! :joyful:

There's a BBC article from his time at Southampton where it's clear just how much Pochettino loves his father and how his father's values have shaped his own...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22388481

Football has meant everything to Pochettino for as long as he can remember. He grew up in the badlands of Argentina's Santa Fe province where his father was a farm labourer.

"I was very happy," he said, without hesitation, when asked about his childhood in Murphy, a settlement which grew up because an Irish family made land available to the locals, helping them to build railways and create a local government.

The family were not well off, and there was no room for luxuries. "It was a very small town and what I did every day was go to school and play football all day long with my friends. We didn't have a TV in the house," recalled Pochettino.

The 1978 World Cup was to prove a pivotal moment in his life. He and his friends would gather at the local football club to watch their heroes, Ossie Ardiles, Mario Kempes and Daniel Passarella.

"The first games I watched were in that World Cup, that was the first time I really watched football on TV," he recalled.

Before long the family bought a small black and white television that was only switched on during special occasions. Pochettino's father would take the battery from the farm's tractor and power up the set with it.

It is all a far cry from the world of modern football but the values of his upbringing have provided him with a management style that the players respect and respond to - discipline and hard work is mixed with warmth and openness.

Wow @theShiznit - my dislike rating was an accident man, no need for the immediate neg rep! :hilarious:
was a bit annoyed as could see no reason for neg, if I've said something neggable, then I expect what's coming (got about 40 in one go for slating Paulinho once and never went back with a smug face smiley)

rep duly reversed.

So we were ushered into the very impressive Lilywhite house at about 5:20PM, after some posh looking sandwiches they wheeled the guests out.

The first question was directed at Levy, where a fan told him that we must sign a striker for when the window opens. Levy said how difficult it was to sign players, and it requires many parties negotiating terms to agree, he said that we were always looking to improve the playing squad and get business done early. Poch chimed in and said that we weren't light up front and we had adequate cover, he mentioned how difficult it was to improve an already good team. Poch went on to say that we have a good team spirit and we would only be interested in signing players that would suit our style.

Levy spoke about Poch's skill with young players and that spending money doesn't equal success and listed United who have spent lots of money but not moved forward.

The LGBT representative then asked about whether the club would support a player coming out, which obviously the panel all said 'of course' (not sure what she was expecting them to say). Hugo said that the players don't worry about each other's personal lives and they support each other whatever their choice.

I'll update a bit more later...

What a stupid fucking question.

What a stupid fucking question.
Well the last time it happened they decapitated said player in the centre circle at HT so it's fair enough really.

We really need to watch out for the minorities imo. The day they manage to worm their way in is when the game is lost. :cautious:

On the most satisfying game...

Mauricio: "It’s difficult because I feel proud after every performance because the @premierleague is the toughest competition in the world."

Mauricio: "The way we play is tough for the players but the most satisfying was the 2-1 win v Arsenal – it was a great feeling."

Bingo.

I really believe this is true. I think that Enic really will have studied how Arsenal funded their stadium and how and where they got it wrong. I hope they have some clever plans up their sleeve and I think we should trust them on it.
