I just hope whoever wins that gets murdered by whoever they play. If the Welsh tried being friendly to us English once in a while, I might root for them, but as that won't ever happen, I'll root for their opponents.

Maybe no one is friendly to you coz you live in Worcester

Or you're a prick?

I actually really like the Welsh team, in particular Coleman. As far as managers go he has to be one of the most level-headed.

No doubt I want them to win the competition.

Wales doing well is the only positive news in the last couple of weeks. I hope that Hodgson is feeling even more embarrassed that a so-called 'minnow' has eclipsed us in this tournament.

Chuffed for Wales & really want them to win it now.

That said, I have never liked gambling, but, before the Euros started, I thought about having a cheeky bet on Wales to win it. Looked at the odds, and the best I found was 66/1. I was gonna chuck a cheeky tenner on it, but bottled it.

Yeah you know how this story is gonna end

One of the main differences between Portugal and Wales is that Ronaldo is the lynchpin of Portugal and everyone plays around him and for him. Bale could have been in the same position for Wales but it hasn't turned out that way.

They have a real team with no arrogance in their ranks. They play for each other and the media got it wrong when they hyped Bale up as the star player. As it turns out a Championship player could be just as worthy of star status.

That difference in the dynamic of these two teams could make all the difference in the result in what should be an exciting semi-final.

Chris Coleman stepped in as manager under difficult circumstances and there were many who thought he would fail. He has done a great job and proved those critics wrong.

Seeing Wales win last night left me feeling a bit sick actually....... It strangely brought back a memory of when I was a young lad. I got stung by a wasp once & whilst in the grip of shock & pain I fell to the floor only to see my hand plummet into a rank pile of dog shit.
I don't know what the emergence of this memory signifies, but I'm gonna say it suggests a little bitterness and twistedness on my part.
I do certainly hope the Welsh stuff the porch u geezers though.

I wonder what the odds were on Wales reaching the semis. Had to have been around 20-1 surely.

Living in Worcester has nothing to do with it, and I'm not a prick. In my experience, I've never seen Welsh people being friendly to English people in general, not just me. It's as simple as that.

Fair enough pal. Sorry you haven't had great experiences. Not all the Welsh are like that and most of the ones that are just mean it as a banter thing really, it's harmless.

Shit, I get loads of stick when I go back to see my family for sounding like I'm from London and I'm Welsh.

Fantastic performance from Wales last night, totally made up for Gareth.

Here's hoping he ends up having to return to us, after Ronaldo demands Real Madrid sell him after Bale totally shows him up.

Then you've had a sad, bad experience. I knew a lot of Welsh people in London who were and still are friends and living in Wales now for over 10 years find the majority of people here friendly and generally far more polite and helpful than Londoners. Perhaps your attitude has something to do with your experience.

Christ, reading through this whole thread there's a lot of bitterness. Still, it's good that the English recognise they're as petty and "small time" as the rest of us. I always thought most English liked to maintain that air of superiority but good you're down to our level now.

Get back to your valley and don't let me see you out in Chester after Midnight. What right do your lot have to get to the semis eh? All you have got is Gareth. It's not like you have a group that can playa s a team. Is it? How bloody dare you piss on our (complete lack of, ever) success and do better than your (apparent) betters?

You know, rivalry (which I love) aside, I found myself willing the taffy's to a victory. The fans and players are a total class act. I genuinely hope they get to the final. But I could;t cope with my colleagues, especially not my mate Big Brian raping my ears if you won it. But I hope you do.

Dare I say it, but I think you have every chance of beating Portugal. No way they have the talent that Belgium does as a whole. I wasn't that impressed with their football. Go get em Dragons.

I honestly thought we'd beat Belgium, I really did. I'm not overly worried about Portugal. Sure, we could lose but I genuinely think we're a better team. Can't believe I'm saying that, mental really.

It will be harder without Davies and Ramsey but still very doable. The Bale Ronaldo show down should be great to watch. I imagine they'll be hyping that up in the build up.

Should say there's been some great responses in this thread as well. Reaffirms my belief ghat spurs fans are better than your average sort.

@E17yid where will you watch the semi? I might come to the pub and buy you a pint or two, just to show us English aren;t all meanies.

Ok so I've just googled. I've actually fucked myself here. Funnily enough i'v taken my baby boy back to Wales for the first time to see his granddad and I was planning on travelling back Wednesday evening. Might have to rethink all this.
