Right now I think the Southampton manager is writing a note to remind himself to never let Pelle take a penalty.

Sad for Buffon because he is classy but maybe should have done better on that last one.

You can only admire what Conte achieved with a world class keeper, 3 world class defenders and some pretty ho hum players, but the best team went through.

Well, they were gonna beat us sooner or later. Not in normal time at least.

Penalties are penalties. Always a harsh way to go out. Nevermind.

Was embarrassing lol. As soon as he did that stupid gesturing where he was going to put it you knew he was going to miss.

Henry spot on calling those 2 Italian penalty takers out. Arrogant, they won't be doing that again

I wish we had that many world-class players, and I bet Woy does, too, not that he'd have used them properly.

Feel like Italy missed the quality of De Rossi in midfield a lot tonight, and of course have missed that of both Veratti and Marchisio this tournament a lot too. I think that a lot of the pundits have kinda missed just how depleted that central midfield position has been for the tournament, and that Italy with those players are a much more complete and threatening side. Conte has done a great job I think given that circumstance, it's going to suck having to see him on the Chelsea bench next season :(

I think Conte is the perfect fit for Chelsea. Anti-football tactics to bore the opposition, just like Mourinho in his day. Having said he got one of the worst Italian teams in my lifetime to the quarters finals so unfortunately I think he may be successful.

Thought that game showed how far England are behind . Beautiful trapping/control of the ball .Pinpoint passing .Attacking moves would often break down not because of some basic technical inability , but because an intelligent idea was a fraction off perfection .
Its fashionable in the UK to slag off the England manager at the mo...but looking at this match it becomes clear that its the English players who are simply much poorer in most departments .

Wow that looked like a penalty shootout we (England) could have won. Shame we are too shit to even get to a penalty shootout these days.

And yet Wales have shown how far you can get with a game plan and a team ethic, even without top drawer International quality.

We may not be at the same level technically, but I don't think we're miles behind, we just never played to our strengths and that can have a profound effect on performance, especially if the players don't believe in the management

I think this is 1 of the worst tournaments ever,

stale football, little flair, no personalities.

The game is just full of athletes, the game has been ruined by fear.

I don't know if I'm falling out of love with the game but for me it has been absolute shite.
