Thought that game showed how far England are behind . Beautiful trapping/control of the ball .Pinpoint passing .Attacking moves would often break down not because of some basic technical inability , but because an intelligent idea was a fraction off perfection .
Its fashionable in the UK to slag off the England manager at the mo...but looking at this match it becomes clear that its the English players who are simply much poorer in most departments .

Nonsense. Leicester and Wales have proved you can work wonders with a manager with a good plan who can get his ideas across and drill it in to his men. You don't need the best players for your tactic, you need the right players and they need to know absolutely what they're doing at all times and why.

We simply don't agree . Take a closer look at the superb technique on display . I was regularly astonished at the precision last night. This has nothing to do with Wales..or Leicester . I'm not on about manager's plans .I'm talking about player quality .

That superb technique comes down to confidence, confidence in yourself and the system and the manager. When Robson-Kanu is doing a Cruyff turn in the opposition box and at the same time Kane struggled to trap a simple pass you know it has absolutely nothing to do with ability.

Again , we don't agree . Yes , better confidence can improve a player of course and better management , but I've never seen an England or Home nation show the level of technique on display in last night's quarter final .

Haven't seen it from Iceland either but they're still in it.

Looks like Gomez and Khedira are out of the tournament with injuries now. Löw started the tournament without a proper #9 and it didn't look convincing, I think they looked better once they had a proper point man in Gomez. He'll have to go back to the false #9 as he hasn't got any other strikers. I can see him going for Draxler instead of Goetze though, the former seems to be in better form.

Khedira is also out for the rest of the Euros and he's been excellent for them in the tournament so far. Schweinsteiger's, his natural replacement, may miss the semis so he may turn to Weigl. Like the look of this kid, reckon he can step up. I think Hummels is out too for the next game because of picking up too many yellows. Another big loss.
