What did he do today that was so atrocious? You do realize Trippier has literally cost us goals in several recent matches. Including a stupid fucking foul in this exact game!

Aurier not costing a goal is literally an improvement.
we were attacking almost all game though, so having Aurier who is shocking going forward was no help at all.

I think most of us on here were pretty psyched when we signed Aurier. I think he can add some offensively, he and Lucas link decently well over there and he is able to complete a give and go because he has the burst to get past a man.

I may be Walkers biggest fan on here so I promise you I don't need to be told he is no Kyle Walker.
I have yet to see his pace

We were 3 nil up and cruising on Saturday so you could have said the same thing but I think we saw the importance of defending and not trying to showboat. Not defending Aurier, as I’ve said previously I’d sell both of them.

Nothing was atrocious he just didn't do a whole lot right today - going forward he was inept but at least he was solid, made a goal saving tackle which everyone seems to have forgotten about but anyway...

But people are just desperate to stick to the boot in just because it vindicates their opinion on him not being picked, there were literally posts in the match thread trying to throw shade on him, some idiot even tried to blame him for the goal we conceded. As I said happy for him to continue because he needs a run of matches to find rhythm in his game, something he was getting before he got injured.

Trippier has also scored once and assisted a good few this season.
Aurrier looked like someone who has never watched football before and didn't know the objective or the rules.
I'd rather have had Sissoko at RB.

Yeah, people have clearly made up their mind about him and are just dug in on their opinions. I mean Tripps was on for 15 min and had a bad defensive error... Not worth my time.

Aurier was fine. Was doing far more work both ways than what trippier has done, wasn't really beaten one-on-one, never gave up on a chase if he needed to, didn't give away a goal, linked up well, caused some issues down their right. A lot of his crosses were running towards the goal-line, where he didn't have much of a chance to hit a target. Didn't help that no one was in the fucken box until Llorente came on. He absolutely stays in the team

Well no one can blame Trippier for the goal tonight. Right back by passed as they attacked down that flank unhindered in the first minute. Scored from the resulting corner. Aurier tried hard but no end product. For all his faults you can see why managers play Trippier when you don’t have enough creative midfielders as he sets up chances.

Aurier though does have more pace and was able to get behythe defence. Like most of our team though had little quality when it mattered.

Trippier, for me, should now be number 3. I’d give Aurier a good run now to see if he can build some form. If he’s not playing all that well, it’s time to give Walker-Peters a real chance.

It depends for me... Tripps has proven himself at world level as a wingback, so with a back three, he has license to go forward and release his killer balls (fnar). In a flat back 4, Aurier is arguably a better defender, and so suits the traditional full back role better.

As ever with modern football, it should depend on the game, and the tactics being used.

Trippier and Walker-Peters are our best two right backs.

Aurier should be sold.

Trippier form lately has been terrible but he has shown in the past he can be a capable defender. He just needs some more coaching/reinforcement not to be too adventurous going forward and to concentrate more on defensive positioning.

Alderweireld has to be vocal and call him back into line.

If you're trying to blame him for the goal then you don't know football or haven't been paying attention to the way we play.

This is another weird scapegoat situation. Anybody acting like Aurier was bad yesterday is either being deliberately disingenuous, or letting their preconceived perception of him cloud their judgement. He was FAR more solid defensively than Trippier has been of late. Going forward, he was ass tbf, but at least he was a constant outlet and linked well with Lucas at times, Davies was far more profligate.

You have to be trolling now, his first touch is embarrassing for a professional, he doesn't seem to quite understand all the rules of the game and his final ball is complete shite...he's not even that fast, positionally he is absolutely shocking and switches off frequently...and here you are, still trying to convince yourself he's the better player.

Lol.

How poor must KWP look in training if he can't get a crack @ RB. Trippier is gash & the jury is out for me re Aurier

1st attack came down his side, he was nowhere to be found...didn't point any fingers though. Then they scored from a corner with a header.
(Uh-oh...better not give away any silly corners or free kicks.)
First touch near opposition corner flag, out for a goal kick.
Then he lets the ball run out for a corner after it coming off Moura...either wasn't paying attention or wasn't sure, which means he took a risk...after what happened at the start of the game.
His decision making was regularly brutal, he didn't have much defending to do and the little he did, I personally did not think he did too well...and PSV (like a Carabao West Ham) are far from a good side tbh.
From an attacking perspective, his short play wasn't great and I think he put one decent ball in during the whole match.
From everything I've seen in his Spurs career so far, including his two recent starts, he is an accident waiting to happen.

A 5 rating last night would have been generous IMO...I can't understand the apologists after last night's performance. Easily our worst player.
