Well done Spurs, we've just earned our highest ever points tally in the EPL!

Well done Arsenal for still topping that and getting 4th. You've had an amazing recent run and deserve where you have finished. I dislike you intensely, but credit where credit is due.

Finally, can we please keep Bale and build next year's team around him properly? If we can, I think we can be very optimistic :crossed fingers:

We lost 4th place on Merseyside

I've just had enough of the gloating ****s.

Every.

Fucking.

Year.

Hardly much to gloat about. Yes they've beaten us on the last day of the season but lets be honest they're further away from success than they have ever been and their main competition is us - what does that say about them, considering where they were 10 years ago?

That's not to say they aren't doing well (they are as are we) but the fact of the matter remains they, like us, can't compete with the money of City and Chelsea and the dominance of Utd.

Even with the change of manager at Utd I don't see too much changing next season. So they can look forward to the battle for fourth trophy again.

They deserve fuck all the jammy bastards.

WBA home, QPR home, WBA away, Norwich home, Utd home. Not to mention Steve, stand still let the ball slap me in the face and do fuck all Harper.

Jammiest team in the world, they deserve NOTHING.

Is there a list anywhere of who's made it through the the qualifiers?

*Prays the Arse gets AC Milan*
I too, would like to see that. I'm also not sure if there's a seeding process or is it just pot luck? Theres' meant to be some hard teams in the mix this year

A couple of quotes from me earlier in the season

This is the problem with your optimism imo. Having experience of these things across several seasons, the following ring true:

1. When Spurs rely on other teams to screw up, they don't. See Chelsea's champions league win as an example.
2. When other teams rely on Spurs to screw up, invariably, we do. See giving up a 10 point lead last season as an example.
3. When other teams play badly and look like they are going to screw up, they get lucky (or cheat?). See Fulop and lasagna gate as examples. (Or Chelsea's champions league win again...)
4. Spurs don't get lucky. Ever.

Perhaps the last point was a little over exaggerated. ;) That said if we do get 4th, we'll know we deserved it!

:)

And after the Fulham game

This hurts a lot.

17th of March. The day Tottenham gave away Champions league football (for good?)

We must have known that we can't leave it to another team for our chance to get CL. We have to do it ourselves, without help from refs, without any luck. This is Tottenham, we don't get that shit. We have to be better than every team we play and win every game scoring legitimate goals across the 90 minutes. This is our only hope for the future.

i'm really pissed off today, firstly because the game was incredibly frustrating to watch. We should have beaten that lot comfortably. Secondly because Arsenal got another lucky win. Thirdly because the gooner ****s got lucky in many matches (see Norwich as a key factor) but that's what happens to us...

But mainly because we let a 10 point lead slip last season and let a 7 point lead slip this season. That is continuity of a bad thing. We lost and drew games we should have won whilst Arsenal ground out result after result. Fulham was still the game we gave it up imo.

There is no doubt that our team isn't quite as strong as it was last year. There is also no doubt that AVB is a very good manager. But there is also little doubt in my mind that we are better than Arsenal 2012/13, they just have more goal scorers and have managed to amass a better goal difference and consistently beat the shit teams because of that. Today has shown that we can't afford to lose intensity and will to win in any games, be it the first of the season or the last. Utd win championships like that, we need to learn to do the same.

Keeping Bale and getting more goals in the team is vital this summer.

LOL @ Jamie something along the lines of "It's a myth Spurs haven't got money, Joe Lewis & Levy are rich men and they need to spend" whilst I agree, I'm also proud that we spend what we generate and if other clubs had to do that we'd all be on a much more level playing field. Read yesterday that City are paying some stupid money for Falcao, where the FFP going to kisk in, it's ridiculous.

All of that said we need to get our transfers done early, just for once to show intent to Bale and everyone, and to be able to get a decent pre-season in with the players that will be here for the season. Let's not forget that those players can also play throughout August too and maybe the odd extra point they can give us may come in handy at the end of the season ;)

I thought it'd be a nice thing to look back at when we win the league next year.

It actually does say a lot. £100m more to score 1 extra point and they're over the fucking moon. They still have the DNA buried somewhere in them, as witnessed by 8 wins and 2 draws just when they needed them to finish out the season. Generally-speaking though, they used to try and do that going for titles. Not 4th spot. Nor would they have been delirious with 4th spot. They used to get all pouty finishing 2nd and winning the FA cup.
