So after rent boys kicked out of CL, can someone clear this up for me. Are top 4 guaranteed CL football even if loollpool "win the CL" and scum win "EL"? immaterial where they finish?

I think the top 4 are guaranteed entry to CL unless Liverpool win the CL and finish outside top 4 and Arsenal win the EL (and also finish outside top 4). In that scenario the 4th place team misses out. Unlikely though.

Good point re international break.

Just had a look, Son's Korea only travel to Belfast on Sunday and Poland on the Wednesday. Thank goodness there's no long trips

I'm guessing it's organized that way, similar to when Brazil played all their friendlies in major European cities (they might still do this)

Could be wrong though

I'm also guessing but it could also be that since this year's WC is being held in Europe, the respective NT coaches would want to get their players acclimatised to playing in Europe, as not all their NT players may be playing at European clubs.

In 10 days. Another bonus is city will be.
Liverpool a
United h
Liverpool h
Spurs a

They may have won title and be CL fatigued. Best possible time to play them.

Those points dropped against WBA, West Ham and Swansea still boils my piss. Soton not so much, seeing as we were lucky to escape with a point and they played well.

Every team drops points they should have got. It's football. Look forward not back.

Champions league Quater Final games between City and Liverpool come at good time for us.

Liverpool have an away game with Everton in between the two games.

We play Man City just a few days after the second leg, hopefully they are knackered.

What’s annoying for me is the same pattern every season. Drop off in Oct/nov great form new year. Hopefully early transfer window closure will help. But really need to try and be consistent from the get go. However I feel World Cup and stadium move could mean another patchy first half of season. Think I calculated we could have 13-15 in World Cup. Probably most of any squad with city.

Most of the top sides will have the majority of their players participating, can't use that as an excuse.

In the eight games following a midweek CL tie Liverpool have won only once.

That's not strictly true, I believe. They've played 7 EPL games after midweek ties, won 1, drawn 4, lost 2.

They beat West Ham 4-1 (again) after first Porto game, but there was a 10-day break between them. So either they've won twice in 8 or one in 7

I stand corrected, in the seven games following a midweek CL game Liverpool have only won once.
The West Ham game, as you say, didn't follow a midweek game.

So, now the ' nightmare scenario' would see us finish 4th, Arsenal win EL and Liverpool(rather than Chelsea) win CL having fallen out of the top 4. So, we def want City to win that tie( and of course want Arsenal to lose anyway)
