Partly explained by the fact that Liverpool are a little like we are. Not financially steroided like City, Chels, and Utd,. We know that that’s going to be a given until the City and Chels financial balloons burst, but Utd will continue to be United anyway

Liverpool also play a similar brand of attacking football to us, and are a direct rival. You can bet if Arsenal were doing better, there’d be more focus on Arsenal. Then there’s the entertainment factor of the Liverpool fanbase, and that’s always fun!

Why obsess over what you perceive as the obsessions of others? Seems a little judgmental.

Don't take it personal, It's an observation on my part not an obsession.

I think Liverpool and Spurs fans are quite obsessed with each other to be honest. I think we both see ourselves in the other team, a team built in their managers attacking and philosophical vision and not upon oil/russian money. As such its a more direct comparison to judge yourself on than against City's exercise in proving money can buy you everything or Utds joyless football club as a brand exercise.

I think they are a great attacking side and because of the way they often win can look like an incredibly daunting prospect when firing on all cylinders. Salah is a beast. I happen to believe that they feel exactly the same way about us and Kane/Eriksen and co. However I think the style they often win in often blind us all to the fact that they cant defend for shit. Unlike us.

So us and City remain the standout teams in the league for me. I sometime wish I could watch us in these big matches as a neutral rather than through my fingers in abject terror so to appreciate just how good we are.

Palace have teased us by going ahead against United and Liverpool, but you just knew they’d stuff it up.

Shame because they were better than Liverpool today.

Oh well, must get a result at Chelsea tomorrow or we are under serious pressure again.

How Mane didn't get a second yellow card for hand ball shows why there will be no English refs in the World Cup.

Palace lost because of Benteke and the ref's failure to send Mane off.

this is our biggest league game left, yes we have City as well but that's a game we are hoping that they will need to of put full effort in for the 2nd leg of the CL (hope the 1st leg is a 1-1 draw) and be a little on the beach after beating Man U to win the title.

they have so many records they can set that unless the other 2 games take something out of them, then the City game will be a big bonus if we can grab a point.

the other 6 games are on paper all winnable, but not certainties. the only real bonus is Liverpool have to go away to Chelsea, but by then if they have secured top 4, and possibly managed to get to the CL final (it's possible) then Chelsea might not be playing the strongest or most focused Liverpool team.

win tomorrow and I will believe we will even finish 2nd, lose or draw we will need at least a point v City. Chelsea always raise their game v us, and tomorrow they might even go 1 further up that for the Wilkins family

Win tomorrow and this current spurs side are too good to let an 8 point lead plus a better GD slip with 7 games to go

Earlier this year we looked at the Liverpool, Arsenal, Man U period as the hardest/most important of the season. It now turns out and has been talked about a lot less, than the period now with Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd coming up, which is argueably harder.

We will do well to come out the other side with the same set of results

But it’s not back to back. We have 3 weeks with stoke and Brighton in between. Plus city will hopefully be off back of title celebrating. Today is the game imo.

Hope City takes the title against United and maybe they will save some players against us. Especially if they beat Liverpool and are through to the semis in the CL

I think we'll finish in the top 4 this season, but I doubt we'll finish 3rd or 2nd unless we beat Chelsea today. Liverpool seem to be be getting the rub of the green, where they should be dropping points.

If this wasn't the case then I could see us cruising into 3rd spot. Unfortunately this season we haven't been quite as good as we could be and Liverpool, or should I say Salah, have hit their stride

Having a proper home stadium hasn't helped, or our injury list early on.

PS That said, I honestly don't don't think Salah will be at Anfield next season.

If we win today, we are 2 back of Liverpool, with a game in hand - against Newcastle. We would have to drop points to finish behind Liverpool - and they would still have Chelsea on the schedule (not that I expect Chelsea to turn up for that match.)
