Happy with 3rd considering we had to play 38 away games, onwards and upwards

and what made it an even bigger achievement is that we played our home games at voodoo Wembley, and a lot of our opponents raised their game at the home of Football. if we had played somewhere else it might of actually worked in our favour

I think we have done really well to finish 3rd with all the games the team has played this season. Add to that, "away" from home all season as well.

I would never have predicted us to do so well on all fronts this season, and I think we're even better equipped to really compete next season. Can't wait!

I think if we still had been at the lane I think we would have come 2nd.

Need more quality in to go again and compete but we wait to see what the summer brings.

Greatful to finish 3rd. It's been a tough season for us. And to end the season with a really weird match where we were 2 goals behind and coming back to win it 5-4.

The really wanted to finish 3rd today. Really miss that passion and hunger which was lacking in our last few outings.

There are times this season we were out of the top4. I admit I was worried. But I am glad we made it.

Thanks for the ride Tottenham... it was a blast This season!

Absolutely agree. United finished 4 points ahead and spent about 900 billion pounds more than us.
Agree all things considered not bad just a shame the team dropped off for the last few weeks but otherwise not too shady at all.

Absolutely thrilled to finish 3rd, all things considered that’s a very good season. Wonder how many people would have predicted that when we lost 2-1 to Leicester back on that wet Tuesday night in December?

I agree, and think even if we had gone to MK we would of picked up more. the thing is next season could be very much like this season in that every team visiting the NWHL will want to ruin our new home results.

last season just the size of our old pitch most probably helped keep the legs going till the end, which took Poch over 2 seasons to get working, next season we will be playing just as many games on a pitch that's not much smaller than Wembley. with any hope we will pick up a few extra transfers that make even the bench always look frightening, hopefully suffer less injuries, though a worry with so many of our squad involved at the WC (and before anyone mentions it, Yes I know other teams will suffer).

we have a big summer ahead, yes looking like we will most probably lose Toby, and Dembele, and even Rose (though on his energy today, looked a bit like the old Rose), and will be hard to bed in the new with the old due to the WC

Yeah, it is a bit if a pattern to be honest but finishing above 3 teams with considerably more resource than us is excellent.
A really good season and hopefully we will invest well in the summer to improve the team and challenge for some trophies.

Somewhat on topic, as I understand it, so long as Sporting Match Benfica’s result today, Spurs are in pot 2 for CL. Both clubs are drawing at half.

I suppose it's a matter of wait and see how quick the players and fan's settle at the new stadium which I actually think we will do alright.
Unlike west ham who moved to Stratford to play in a track and field stadium which is and looks a poor attempt to create a football ground they got what they paid for, us on the other hand have been lucky that levy and the board have really thought about and delivered something special.
I reckon we could look to a bright future starting next year hopefully a better run in the champions league and maybe a cup win would be top it off.

I just feel teams will try and frustrate us as much. think that the atmosphere will be tremendous unless things don't go our way, but like Wembley teams will just give that little extra. Put it this way, I'm not expecting an unbeaten season, as we did in our final year

Agree I think similar to this year 1 or 2 defeats at home might be the case but certainly can't wait to get into that new stadium and who we line up with opening day.

Liverpool
16/17 4th 76 pts
17/18 4th 75 pts

Stunning progress gonna make up 25 pts on City next season apparantly ?

my guess is our 1st home game will be Liverpool. we seem to pick them up early in the season too often.

I doubt I'll get to the new stadium next season, unless finances change and I decide to pick up a membership. also depends on what the disabled parking is at the new stadium. I know the plans showed plenty of spaces, but there will also be a lot more disabled fans each week compared to the old WHL

Not sure if this should be here or in the pundits thread but saw this and I think it shows what an achievement this season has been
