A point yesterday now doesn’t seem so bad when we were playing awful yesterday. We could have lost as Liverpool just have.

I hope Toby is fit enough to have some minutes against Newport as we would need him for the upcoming tough run of games.

If we can't beat Swansea we've got no chance of getting top four - surely some Scouse got or another will be saying that tonight?

We had that after drawing at Southampton* so that's us and Liverpool out of the race

*Actually, we get a version after every bad result

We have seen in the January window our major competition for that fourth place all sign and strengthen the team. And big names all with proven premiership experience at that. I think that was the nail in the 4th place coffin for me. To be honest I think after watching Arsenal play, then us this weekend, plus with mkhitaryan signing. I see Arsenal challenging for that fourth place now. Liverpool especially with Virgil VD will give them a run for their money.
Let’s face it Liverpool will win tonight, and it’s hard 3 games in a row for us. I think after those 3 games we will be in 6th, and that is realistically where I expect us to finish. We had a good previous 2 years, but as usual the teams around us all strengthening their squads after poor seasons is no surprise and we are back to just about where we deserve to be given our squad. I would have said maybe 5th but Arsenal have picked up there game and I think mkhitaryan will fit in well with them and Sky are now saying they expect Aubameyan to join him in next couple of days, Sky also saying Malcom’s manager confirms “he will not leave this window”. For me that all adds to me thinking they could beat us to fifth.

as Jimmy Greavies used to say "it's a funny old game Saint"!

no guarantees in football, other than your expectations to always expect us to fail.

no one knows what will happen, we have 3 tough games coming up, but still have 9 winnable games as well as 2 other tough games. lets wait till have very little chance, before we say we don't have any.

oh and Arse signing Mikhataryan and Aubameyan doesn't guarantee improvement when they have just lost their star player. Chelsea are struggling to buy a striker, no guarantee they will have it as easy as they did v Brighton and they still have 4 tough games left this season

I pray to god that Poch doesn't go to Anfield thinking we'll boss them all over the park, and stupidly play out from the back like we did against city.

Our best performance of the season against Madrid came by sitting back and hitting them on the break.

We've gotten out of jail here - players need to grab this opportunity and go and win our next 3.

I'd take 7pts with a draw at Anfield. Keeps us 2pts behind and they have harder remaining games than us in my opinion (even though that means nothing in PL). Win all 3 and I think we'll definitely get top 4.

So where are all the doomsdayers from yesterday?

We are balls deep in the race for the top 4. We will drop points along the way but so will others.

Don't stop believing!

What a fantastic result. Well done Swansea. 2 points off top 4. Now lets sort our shit out and go on a run of results. We're going to need to be at our very best to get results in the 4 games after this weekends cup game.

Yep, but I can’t see us winning at Anfield given our abysmal record up there. If you offered me a draw in that match I’d bite your arm off.

If we beat UTD and Arsenal a draw at Anfield is a great result. Especially after their loss tonight.

Think we've just about got our pants off and are standing in the corner of the room waiting our turn at the moment...
