Last nights defeat was utterly soul destroying, cannot stop thinking about it.....
but we have to move on fast.
The fact is we still have a good chance of the FA Cup and a fight for 2nd in the League means the season is still very much alive.
An FA Cup win and 2nd in the league would be an absolutely great season.
All to play for. COYS

We are probably going to have to beat one of the ‘shit on a stick’ teams managed by a soul destroying specialist manager - like we lost to last night - in a crunch game to win the FA Cup (unless Brighton or Leicester do anything) so if we can manage it, it would be very valuable experience for the future

Am starting to get over the CL defeat and looking forward to the domestic challenges. God help me if we don't beat Bournemouth though. Maybe this defeat will spur us on even more.

With us going out yesterday, even though I never thought we would really win the CL, it's made me really anxious to win the FA Cup. With Man City out plus the growing and building pressure of not winning anything, I'm almost at a stage where I'm gonna be majorly disappointed if we don't win the FA Cup now, which feels strange to say for me. A poor Chelsea or United team winning it over us would kind of sum up where we're at as a team right now if I'm honest, as much as I hate to admit it.

Feeling pretty pessimistic. Slip up against Bournemouth, and Chelsea can overtake us when they play us at their place. Unfortunately this is a scenario I could see happening. Add to this a very tricky FA Cup tie against a bang on form Swansea, and our promising season could evaporate in just a few games.
Hope we’ve got the wherewithal to come through last nights disappointment....

I think the boys will want to make amends for last night and will come out very determined to win and make a statement.

Last night was a free hit. Obviously gutting to lose but it's a tournament we were in for the fun of it and to make money. It isn't a tournament we had any chance of winning. Swansea away is a more important game in reality as we absolutely must win the FA Cup this season. Along with getting top 4 it would be an incredible year and set us up perfectly to go home.

If there was a "pessimistic" or "I'm having a crisis" button, i would press those.

Sorry but I would not call either Chelski and especially Utd a poor team! Utd are above so if they are a poor team what does that make us? Yes they are not as good as some of the teams of the past, but I certainly would not right off Chelski making a bit of a come back and finishing above us. So let’s not be silly a say if either one of those teams were to win the FA cup that it would be a travesty because they are poor teams. They have just as much if not more chance because of past experience then we do. I am pretty sure the bookies would have both Utd and Chelski above us to win the FA cup. But we do stand a fighting chance, but even getting past a resurgent Swansea away from home is now a big task. And we would probably still have to beat one of those clubs probably both to win the FA cup! So I wouldn’t be setting yourself up to say we should be disappointed if we don’t. I think we have a better chance of a CL spot. Basically with current goal difference Chelski need two wins over us. But we have so show balls and get over this disappointment first and beat Bournemouth away, again no easy task. So would I be surprised if we end up with nothing, not really. But I really hope we can say finally that we are a bigger better squad than we have been for a while. But we need to start by showing it Saturday. It really could be a make or break game for our season. Big big game.

After last night's give away combined with previous seasons of falling short I fear the writing is already on the wall. We'll finish 4th. One of the remaining English clubs wins the Champs League. Arsenal win the Europa League. I'm half tempted to place a bet on it.......

Certainly upset to lose out in the CL, but.....it could be a blessing. Total focus on league position and FA Cup now. If the cards fall our way, and we make our own luck, 2nd again and another FA cup could be ours. Its in the boys hands.

They obviously know how to get the job done, what I really mean is that Chelsea are poor regarding form and United are poor regarding the football they produce but secondly in comparison to how United and Chelsea teams generally are, I think they’re poor to what they could and should be. I do get what you’re saying though, a 'poor' team wouldn’t draw at home to Barca or in United's case be 2nd in the league etc. I’m not trying to say it’s an easy job, I just think we’re better than both teams (we’d be 2nd if we were at WHL IMO) but in saying that I also wouldn’t be surprised if we went out to either of them. I just mean to say as we are as a team now and as they both are I would certainly still be disappointed to go out to either of them with a cup at stake and that's largely due to how I think the teams stand at the moment.

I'm not saying we 'should' be disappointed, I said 'I' will be disappointed. And as much as I agree with your statement of Chelsea and United not being taken for granted, (which I didn't mean to allude to initially) from a personal standpoint with Man City out and my opinion of us being better than United and Chelsea, it's gonna feel extra disappointing if we don't take this opportunity. At least for me anyway (y)

For me the team need to use the let down of Wednesday night, and use that disappointment to spur us on for the remaining games. We are in a fantastic position in the remaining games, and it will be nice to see how we work now with one game a week For me on Wednesday night we showed signs of having two games a week for several weeks now. Wednesday night was a let down, but we can still be proud, a let down for me would be failing to finish in the top 4 now.

Losing a match, especially one that would have put us in the quarter finals, can't ever be considered a blessing in any shape or form.
