Taking some seriously bad feelings going into this weekend, come on Burnley, let’s hope they can’t play as badly in the second half

What an absolutely pathetic effort from Burnley. Obviously, they've got the deck chairs out already and are just waiting for their sandals to arrive.

And I'm afraid to say, watching Aaron Lennon these days is very painful. He can't run, he can't pass, he can't defend and he can't shoot. He's not even a pale shadow of what he used to be. I'm afraid it's all caught up with him.

Fuck fuck fuck.

Of the top of my head recent times, lasagne, mind the gap, Chelsea win CL to make us the only 4th place team to miss out, Leicester 1-0 38 games to win league at our expense (slight exaggeration) then to add salt come 3rd in a two horse race, miss anything? why get nervous? because it's fucking Spurs, same reason I only start to relax in the 91st minute when we're 3 goals up as they can't get 3 in 2 minutes...

God some of the defeatist attitudes in this thread are quite tragic.

Yes we've had a bad couple of matches, but we've been in excellent form for the majority of the season. We have games left against Watford (H), West Brom (A), Newcastle (H), and Leicester (H).
Three of those are at Wembley, which has basically been a fortress since December. (Excluding losing to probably one of the best ever premier league sides)

We're not the Spurs of old. I guarantee Poch will drill into the players how vital it is to pick up maximum points in all those games, and I'm also very confident we will.

So people are not allowed an opinion unless they put money on it?
Interesting. Perhaps this kind of thing could be kept on separate forum.

To think we can’t get 7pts even if we need 7 from Watford wba Leicester Newcastle is just ridiculously negative. And based on nothing we’ve done all season. We’ve only lost 1 game to teams outside top 6 all season and none at home. The negativity is completely without any evidence or foundation to back it up.

There is no evidence to predict future events. It is very understandable for people to be worried as we have fucked things up so many times in the past.

I hope we don't and don't think we will. But spursy didn't become a term without reason. Chelsea winning the cl, lasagnegate, mind the gap etc... if there is one team that can snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory it is us.

I’m amazed people thought it was in the bag. Nothings done until it mathematically is.

Definitely didn’t think it was done, but I was hanging on to the hope that Burnley might at least get a point earlier tonight. On the whole I’m still quite confident, but tonight felt a bit like the Redknapp days, hoping that someone would do us a favour.

Saying that we shouldn’t need to look to anyone else, it’s completely in our own hands.

I expect us to win our remaining potential 6 games. 5 of those games are at home. Watford, West Brom and Leicester are all shit. Newcastle are bang average. We have a 5 point gap with 4 games left ffs.

Couldn't have put it better myself like you I believe we will make top four but probably only just and hopefully a cup win but as we all know mourinho always pulls something out of the bag.
People's concerns over us going all spursy are justified as if there was a league table of fucking potentially situations up then we would be league champions of it.

Although I’m not ruling out the possibility but in order for us to miss out on top four, we have to screw up in 50% of our remaining games combined with Chelsea having perfect results from their final 4 games. The odds are still positively with us.

For now, the ball is very firmly in our court and I’ll take our chances of qualifying for next season’s CL.

Disclaimer : my view may change after the next couple of rounds. ?

£5 on "just" Arsenal winning EL and Chelsea to clinch top 4 gave me £340-ish on bet365 (in Sweden I don't know if that matters).
That my friend is 2 things,
1. Extremely dirty money ; and
2. Compensation for injury to feelings

Why didn't you go the whole hog and add Chelsea winning FA Cup win into the mix.

Still 1.04 on betfair (£100 to win £4) showing just how unlikely a f*** up is. Imo Liverpool should be more concerned x2 PL games before and sandwiched with Roma game and then playing chelsea straight after.
