Unless you're in your 60's, this is the best Spurs squad/team/set-up you've ever seen. It's never been better than this. Rose-tinted glasses to think otherwise. We can debate about 1983 if you like, but whatever.

Fuck me, there were some dark times. But for a few Teddy Sheringham goals, we'd have been relegated in the 90's. Probably would've deserved it. Down with the motherfucking Vale.

Mind the gap between here and there. We're laughing. Spurs are amazing and awesome, and better than I've ever seen them. Don't get comfy in your Spurs fandom - that's not how being Spurs works. It's never-ending pain & suffering. That's the deal.

We desperately need tomorrow to be a draw.

We'll then be 4 (effectively 5 cos of GD) ahead of chelsea with both having 6 points to play for.

And would be 2 behind Liverpool with a game in hand.

you forgot to put before the bolded that "in my opinion", and perhaps why you think they will, because Liverpool are not going to rely on Brighton sitting on the beach next Sunday. there is a possibility that Houghton might get his players up for it, knowing he will help a team that started his career in football.

Of course it’s my opinion, that’s obvious. The reason is because they’re at home, they’ll be fresher, hungrier and it’s an absolute must win game for Chelsea. Liverpool can afford to lose and still get another chance. We cannot rely on anybody else and will have to get the points ourselves. The way we’ve been playing for the last 6 games fills me with no confidence whatsover.

If my math is correct, the best result is Liverpool winning and still being 5 up on Chelsea for fourth.

Then all we need is 1 point from the following two and even if Chelsea win their final two, we go through on GD unless Chelsea go off on their final two opponents.

What's this obsession with finishing third?

A Liverpool win tomorrow is the best result.

I'm torn, I agree a win for Pool is the best outcome for us. It just sticks in my throat that the scousers could finish above us. I think our aim should always be to finish as high as possible. 1) More money for us 2) I would rather be the 3rd best team in England than the 4th best. On the whole scheme of things it probably doesn't matter as 4th is now automatic qualification for the CL. But it gives us bragging rights to finish above Pool...again!

People suggesting liverpool will try hard to win are kidding themselves

They have a champions league final, they will coast till the end of the season and concentrate on the final

Its not even a must win as they could lose tomorrow and win their final game against a team playing for nothing and still finish above chelsea as their goal difference is much better

Liverpool's chances for qualifying for CL are much higher given their league position and CL final. We need them to tank Chelsea today- after our recent sluggish performances I'd take fourth place right now and would have done at the beginning of the season with Wembley factored in

They will try to win I think.
However Chelsea have momentum and I just can't see them not getting the victory regardless how motivated Liverpool are.

They are not going to want to have a must win pressure game on the last day though, not with the final coming up so they won't be coasting by any stretch of the imagination.

since we beat Chelsea, we have lost 2 games and drawn 1 v teams playing for something, the game today was lost through their keeper pulling off a few good saves and scoring an offside goal. since they changed to Darren Moore they have shown more grit, but today was just a case of not putting our chances away, it happens
anorher way of putting it is that although we have had all to play for since Chelsea, we’ve lost 2 games & drawn one (whilst ‘lesser’ teams have managed somehow to secure their required wins ...)

A Liverpool win today is an absolute must. Forget about 3rd. We've got a fight on our hands to finish 4th at this moment in time.

I disagree.

We can't play for draw, and Liverpool are catchable. A draw today and we won on weds and 3rd is in our hands

If they lose today they have to win on the final day against a well organised Brighton side who are cable of getting a draw. They will be worried if they lose today 100%

Just caught up on MOTD and no mention anywhere of Livermore bing offside for the goal... Kane appeals and looking at the replay he’s clearly offside. That point could be crucial with our better GD

Amazes me that we’ve beaten Madrid Dortmund Arsenal United Liverpool at Wembley and suddenly the same set of players are incapable of beating 2 mid table teams with nothing to play for. People are going on like we’ve got to play PSG and Bayern in our last 2 games. And that’s before Chelsea have even beaten Liverpool.

Probably because we just drew with Brighton, struggled against Watford and Lost to WBA......I'm worried.

I actually believe a point yesterday woudn't have been the end of the world as it would have kept the Chavs 6pts behind us with abetter GD.

Thank our lucky stars that the fixture list threw up Chelsea v Liverpool, whilst both in direct competition with both themselves, as well as us.. By virtue of this alone, and them having to take points off each other I think we will stagger over the line.

Still Liverpool win should be what we are all wishing for. Fuck worrying about 3rd seriously
Spot on. Also 4th gets normal CL qualification anyway so it really doesn’t matter that much at this point. Playing at Wembley all year 4th would be a bloody good season. Then we re-set and go again in the new stadium.

6 weeks ago, i think everyone would be extremely confident. Since stamford bridge we have looked slow and ponderous and totally bereft of confidence, hence the meltdown. We seem so brittle.

If we HAVE TO get a result i have very little confidence that the team as its currently playing can dig it out and get that result. So, I'd like Liverpool to help us over the line by beating chelsea this afternoon.
