Need a Pool win. That will give us two games to get 3 points or just a draw in 2 games with a superior goal difference. We just gotta get over that line

Which at the beginning of the season I'd have accepted, but in this manner is a bit galling.

Totally unacceptable if we end up messing this up. Worse than any bottle job scenario in years. How the hell have we gone from 10 points in front, to now potentially just 2?? Nothing surprises me with this joke of a club we support. No wonder we get ripped to shreds by rival supporters so much. We are a comical joke.

We’ll either finish 3rd or 5th.

I’m hoping we get our shit together and win our last 2 games while it’s still in our hands, salvaging this season in the justification of progress. If we lose to Newcastle I can’t see anything other than 5th happening.

Lol! A "comical joke"? We consistently finish within the top 6 in the premier league. Some fans need to remember where we were before!

If I was rich I'd bet every fucker on this forum who think we'd get 4th that we are not gonna make 4th spot.

As such, I'm just gonna say it instead. We aren't gonna make 4th!

It’s Brighton, West Brom, Newcastle and Leicester they said. Easy they said. Top four no problem they said. Chelsea won’t win their games they said. They have Liverpool still to play they said. We’ll be fine they said.
Anyone could see we were sleep walking into this shit storm.
Even though it’s ‘only’ Newcastle and Leicester at home left is there seriously anybody left who has confidence in our team?

The thing is that the Chelsea v Liverpool game is a no lose scenario for us. If Chelsea win we are 1 point behind Liverpool with a game in hand. If Liverpool win then we are 5 points ahead of Chelsea with better goal difference and better goals for. If it's a draw then we are 2 points behind Liverpool with a game in hand and 4 points ahead of Chelsea.

You guys are all arguing semantics, top 4 is still in our hands and anything other than a Liverpool win puts top 3 in our hands. Let's just sit back and wait for the result!
Top 4 may still be in our hands but our hands are covered in lube and primed to let it slip right through.

Imagine if it turned out there was a giant conspiracy and football was as fake as wrestling with all the narratives prewritten, and everything predetermined? Would go some way to explain this club at times

Unfortunately with the players we have I don’t see us finishing in the top 4. These players have shown on numerous occasions that when the pressure is on they can’t handle it. If Chelsea do win this then we will be dreadful against Newcastle and be lucky to come away with a point.

Hey I hope I am wrong!

For all the talk about the standard of opposition, form matters more. Chelsea will win their remaining games. I just can’t see is doing the same. We just don’t look like beating teams. Poch has been switching the team a lot more when we’re not having a rush of games, a sign he’s not confident.

All clubs get ripped by opposition supporters. You only tend notice it more with Spurs because you support them. Something has been missing from the performances for a while but I wouldn't put it down to bottling. I understand people being frustrated and angry but we beat Real Madrid when we could easily have been overawed so whilst the results and performances have been, in the main, below par, I would think more about whether Kane was rushed back too quickly, whether we are a bit one dimensional, lacking in creativity at times and the tactics are working.

It really doesn't. Form is by definition temporary. We may or may not start playing well again for our last two games. But Leicester and Newcastle won't suddenly turn into sides which are equal to us.

Put yourself in the place of a Stoke fan or a Sunderland fan then you might think differently. That's not to say we don't all want us to be better, but it's still in our own hands fo finish in the top 4. Let's wait until the end of the season until we start the wrist slashing!
