If we failed to finish in the top 4, I could see Poch walking. I know that seems ridiculous and i’m sceptical whilst writing it but Pochettino’s rhetoric is that this is a team that is building and improving every year. Regressing to the point where we drop a 10 point lead wouldn’t look good at all.

I never said it wouldn't be a fuck up, I also don't give a fuck what other fans think of us, but then I don't spend my time gobbing off to fans of other clubs on social media.
Lol but the other main points you agree with? It was the players mentality I was referring to but hey you have your opinion as you see a few don't agree, no biggie.

You will get a lot disagree with this post I am afraid as I said similar but I agree with you.

I think Poch will think about his future, 2nd to 5th (last season to this season) when we had a 10 pt lead with 6 games to go this year, sorry that is poor.

If Poch goes I am fearful as a lot of players will want out.
This summer is huge and there was lots of confidence in January from Hercules that we had lined up all these deals and investment etc, saved the messages as they cheer me up at times :) but lets see if it was true or not as this summer really is big for Levy.

For me, I wish we would get brought out by some rich oil men

To be honest, on the bright side...
We have more chance of winning the EL then we do the CL and that gets us back in CL the year after if we win it next season, so if the lads do bottle it, we have that as a hope, as I am hoping we have a strong summer and sign some winners as its what this side needs...

Just hope it does not damage our transfer plans too much, but CL football hasn't made Levy spend more over the years so fingers crossed it dont

Clearly, hoping we don't bottle it but I'm thinking there is more chance we will then not so preparing myself for the all the pictures/jokes and shit about my club that was not the laughing stock in the 60s when I started supporting them

It takes 15 games to win the EL and get into the CL. We have 2 home games against teams with nothing left to fight for . I like our chances better in those than in the 15 game Thursday night marathon next season to get into it 12 months later. I had already assumed Chelsea will win all their matches and Liverpool will beat Brighton. So let’s just back the team with total support on Wednesday night and then again on Sunday , not moaning and groaning every time we lose possession.

Ok let's play that game. Yes it makes it harder to keep players and sign players. I still don't see it as being a catastrophe. It would be a setback, some people are painting it as a major disaster. I fail to agree.

I think some people need to calm down. There were pre-season threads about what we were expecting this season with the Wembley transition. Many, myself included, were expecting top six at best. It will be disappointing to miss out on top four yes, but only because of the position we were in. If we played worse all season and were never in the top four to begin with, I bet there wouldn't be so many people thinking it will be catastrophic for the future of the club. I don't see it being a disaster or a catastrophe for the club. We're not getting relegated.
You have to put it in context though. We'd be playing EL football after being 10 points clear of 5th. It would be very deflating and damaging to the club.

Rightly or wrongly i'd imagine a few of the players thinking "what's the point?" as i'm not being paid market rate wages and we're not competitive when the pressure is on. (FA Cup semi and potential CL finish bottle job as a case in point).

There'd be even more of a reason to rally around Poch if we missed out because we'd need another rebuilding job with the players likely to leave.

I bet Poch or the players aren't sitting there thinking "Oh we've blown it now. might as well accept 5th and pack my bags for my holiday".

FFS people. You all talk about winning mentality but take a look in the mirror. Fans have their part to play too. If you are lucky enough to have tickets for the final 2 games of the season then please for the love of god get behind the manager, and the team and fucking sing until you are hoarse!

IF we end up 5th, I don't see it as the end of the world like some of you seem to do. When did our fanbase get so fucking entitled and sensationalist?

Its not even us bottling it. We are just totally out of form. Its either mental fatigue or physically fatique or both.

Maybe we put so much thought and effort away at chelsea and the emotion of beating them at their ground in 28 years has fucked us. Could also be one eye on the WC
Loser talk. No excuses. If we bottle it, it's on everyone, from Levy and Poch all the way down through the players. They should be raked over the coals for it if we bottle it. It's completely unacceptable with the lead we had over Chelsea just a few weeks ago.

If we all dis that this place wouldn’t exist surely, I mean there would be no point discussing anything.... perhaps that would be a good thing... lol.

Of course it would still exist, we'd just save our meltdowns until after the event

I suppose you think losing to West Brom and drawing to Brighton is fantastic?

Not sure you do anything here other than criticize other posters...do you ever comment on the players or performances?
You might want to try harder at putting words in my mouth tbh.

I've commented alot, but then again Dave you're not about a whole lot tbh so you'd miss it.

Glass houses and all that ...

Fish rots from the head first. Poch walks for that reason he's just another bottle job looking for a big wage and big transfer budget for an easy way to trophies.

He made a big song and dance about being the manager here for as long as Wenger was at the scum for the past couple of seasons. If he didn't factor in dips in form then he's stupid. If he walks the minute things aren't going right he's a wimp looking for easy glory or not being able to stand the heat.

Nah, I can't see him being either. I'm more inclined to believe that his recent change in attitude is more in line with the recent ITK and that's him not feeling backed. But one thing is for sure, Poch took this job knowing he'd not have masses of funds for transfers and that he would need to develop and ongoing project. We can blame the players until the cows come home, but it is Poch's job right now to show he has the right stuff when it counts.

To be fair there's only so much we can do from the stands, can't play for them and neither can Poch.
And you're right, finishing 5th isn't the end of the world. But I'm sure a good majority of the players will be on the phone to agents if we do end up in the EL. It'll be a rough summer to say the least. Try painting losing the very best of our squad, thus falling behind massively in the top 6, in a good light

I don’t think it’s ridiculous to be worried, at this stage; we’re in awful form, Jan is likely to miss the rest of the season and Kane has gone missing.
I could give plenty of reasons as to why I disagree but as the current train of thought is on the negative would there be any point otherwise?

I'll try two but as I said, seems pointless anyway -

Have you seen the form of those teams we're about to play, it's possibly worse than ours and who has more 'world class' players in their ranks?

I try to look at things logically, and would prefer to see how it turns out. If at the end of it we lose both games, finish out of the top four then that would be the time to be constructively critical about it. Just my onion.

A majority? When have these mass exoduses ever happened?

I totally get that pal. My biggest concern is the fact that Newcastle and Leicester know that we need 3 points from them and we’ve struggled to break teams down for a while now.

What I’m having nightmares about currently is the fact that Chelsea kick off 15 minutes before us on Wednesday. If we kick off in 5th place, I could see Wembley being incredibly toxic.

I wonder when it comes to end of season do some of our best players see themselves away somewhere next season anyway looking for more $ so have less invested interest in making sure we win, where as Chelsea players are already top of the $ food chain so have a lot more invested interest in making sure they succeed. I just watched the Chelsea players today and I always felt they felt they were going to win no matter what it took today.
