Overreaction maybe, but you can't honestly claim that we should not have put top four out of sight by now? We've let Chelsea creep back in and have a credible shot at fourth. That in itself is disappointing. The players have made hard work for themselves unnecessarily. I don't see the use in denying that.

after we beat Chelsea our next league game was Man City, was never going to be easy whether they had won the title or not the week before

we then played Brighton fighting for points, everyone wanting us to rotate, because the FA Cup semi, Poch did so and we drew thanks to giving away a soft penalty, which I still don't think it was, i still think he went down after clipping Aurier.

we then lost the semi, thanks to gifting them an equaliser.

we then played shit and still beat Watford 2-0

we then played WBA, and had Pardew still been manager they would of been gone by now. we didn't bottle it v WBA, we just got hit by a sucker punch offside goal in the dying minutes. their MotM was Dawson, though they defended so well, and Forster made 3 good saves. WBA didn't deserve the win, but they got it.

the thing in football there are no guarantees, if the best style of football won games we would of won the league the last 2 seasons. we might fuck up v Newcastle or Leicester or both, but at the moment I'm in the camp that feels we will make it, and just hope Poch gives the squad the kick up the arse needed, the trouble is the way our luck has been since forever and a day in my life as a Spurs fan, give or take a few seasons, the Newcastle keeper might just do what he is paid for and pull of 10 blinding saves, and Newcastle will do what WBA did.

On the plus side Leicester have a mid week game as well and a host of injuries. I’m definitely buying into players want puel out, they’ve done it before. Just hope he hangs in till Sunday. Also for me a player like say vardy or Maguire who 100% knows he is going to World Cup will not be trying an ounce imo for fear of injury. If I know I’m definitely going to World Cup and club having nothing on line last game, I wouldn’t even raise a sweat especially away from home.

Mate most of our squad know they are going to the world cup, certainly alot more than Leicester's squad. We're in a worse position than them if you look at it like that

I'm not convinced, and won't be until we play like the very good team we can be, and beat someone. Not getting lucky against Watford ( who had f all to play for by the way), losing to the worst team in the league, and drawing with Brighton who let's face it had nothing to play for either.

I think you have a point to be fair but i'm sure you can be constructively critical of the fact we've managed to cut a 10 point gap to 2 points on Chelsea whilst only playing one top side in City. I think it's been really unprofessional of late. After Chelsea, the lads obviously thought it was sewn up.

yes we have only played 1 top side, but how have the 2 other bad results we have had done against other teams in the top 4.

Brighton fighting for points, drew with us, beat Man U. hopefully Houghton will get his players up for the last match with his love for us. Liverpool will be going into this match knowing they have to win, yet have players that might be worried about over committing and missing the greatest day of their lives. don't get me wrong I expect Liverpool to beat them, because the Anfield crowd will be right behind them (just hope ours can raise their voices in 2 cup finals we have left).

WBA beat Man U, drew with Liverpool after being 2-0 down, and nicking the win v us, similar to Man U.

if Newcastle are going to put so much effort in beating us away from home, why won't they put in the effort v Chelsea on the final day, in front of 50k supporters and a team that hasn't beaten them at St James since 2011/12.

the annoying thing is our worst performances (NOT RESULTS) since going beating Chelsea have been Brighton away, where everyone wanted Poch to rotate, and Watford and we won that 2-0. I'd quite happily take 2 more bad performances and nicking 4pts, especially against 2 teams whose form over the last 4 games has been close to relegation form. the only thing that might give them a lift is they got a day out at Wembley

I don't reckon it's about CL for me anyway it's more about pride and facing up to the challenge in front. Having an expectation of your team coming through is not a bad thing or that your support has become like Arsenal Liverpool Chelski etc.

Not saying all of them will go but you can't deny a lot of them will ask their agents to put out feelers

it doesn't mean Levy will accept the offers. in fact Levy should tell them they are the ones that cost us if we do miss out.

Yes Poch will be responsible too, but he can't be at fault for players fucking up missed chances, or someone gifting the opposition a goal. the one thing he is guilty of is not making changes early enough, but the players are the ones when on the pitch need to put the ball in the net

We need to vent at times too;)

yes we all need to vent, but at the moment the team needs us 200% behind them to give them a lift. if whatever crowd is due on Wednesday all vent before we kick a ball, we lose that extra lift we need, that could be the difference in winning or losing

Did anyone really expect it to be easy to get top four? Every team goes through a bad run even City lost a couple on the bounce.

Yes the West Brom game was a big disappointment and we let ourselves down. But we have 2 games to go and 4 points should be enough for 4th and 6 points will be enough for 3rd. That is a bloody good position to be in.

Our home form has been pretty impressive this year considering the Wembley factor and I actually think the fact we are under pressure will be a good thing. There can be no complacency from the players. I think we are being harsh on them saying they don't care. I think that is definitely one thing they do. That shows when we lose.

I am really looking forward now to two games at the end of the season that actually mean something. This is what football is about. COYS

I’m not sure Poch and his “ me or another “ would demotivate the players but definitely it wouldn’t have helped. Reminded me a little of how he was forever talking about catching Leicester and then appeared disinterested in coming second. Only there is more at stake this time.

As I said back in April:

“WBA are unbeaten in their last 3, including victory over Utd at Old Trafford and drawing with Liverpool. We’ve drawn 4 of our last 5 league games against them, and not won at the Hawthorns in 3 years. This is our hardest game left.”

And this:

“St Totteringhams Day? It would be deliciously small time to Lord it over Arsenal then not qualify for champions league.”

A lot of people were taking this game way too lightly and I couldn’t understand why. There’s quite nothing like Spurs fans and hubris, refusing to accept things we do time and again.

As for those saying it’s still a foregone conclusion as both remaining games are at ‘home’, again I refer you back to April:

“We’ve won one of our last 5 games against Leicester, have already lost to them this season and haven’t beaten them at home for 3 years. We’ve lost 3 of our last 5 games against Newcastle, 2 of them at home (including last season).”

We should win the last two games but I agree with what you have posted but can see us winning one and drawing or losing the other, it is so like us to throw away an advantage no one else does it better the team has not been at it lately.
