Fuck me....this thread! Seriously. Grow a pair people! 3-0 Spurs v Barcodes
More likely to see Chelsea loanee Kenedy score the winner than that scoreline on current form. Can't see us winning any of our remaining games the way we are playing and against 2 of our bogey sides.

We should win the last two games but I agree with what you have posted but can see us winning one and drawing or losing the other, it is so like us to throw away an advantage no one else does it better the team has not been at it lately.

I think we’ll do it too. But the state of some of the comments.

As I said back in April:

“WBA are unbeaten in their last 3, including victory over Utd at Old Trafford and drawing with Liverpool. We’ve drawn 4 of our last 5 league games against them, and not won at the Hawthorns in 3 years. This is our hardest game left.”

And this:

“St Totteringhams Day? It would be deliciously small time to Lord it over Arsenal then not qualify for champions league.”

A lot of people were taking this game way too lightly and I couldn’t understand why. There’s quite nothing like Spurs fans and hubris, refusing to accept things we do time and again.

As for those saying it’s still a foregone conclusion as both remaining games are at ‘home’, again I refer you back to April:

“We’ve won one of our last 5 games against Leicester, have already lost to them this season and haven’t beaten them at home for 3 years. We’ve lost 3 of our last 5 games against Newcastle, 2 of them at home (including last season).”

I agree to you to an extent because I think previous form against teams is always key. Let’s not forget though the last time we played them on a Wednesday night at home we walloped Newcastle 5 nil.

Also, a win Wednesday means we only need to avoid defeat against Leicester to get fourth because of our goal difference. That sounds defeatist typing that, but that’s the reality now that we didn’t get anything on Saturday.

This basically comes down to whether or not you think our team is good enough or not, are they the kind of players who are looking at Chelsea and shitting themselves or looking at the table and getting excited about overtaking Liverpool and finishing third. I think we are good enough.

Am I correct that the last 2 games are at home. Or should I say our temporary home @ Wembley?

Think that will play a big factor. Think we want to end our time there on a high, especially after what happen vs United.

It's still all in our hands.

I'm shitting it. Big time. It would be different if we'd been playing well but we really haven't. How the fuck did we end up here?

If we are to miss out on the top four it would be somewhat poetic justice. We have cruised our way through far too many matches this season, perhaps thinking we're better than we actually are.

We keep being told that we're 'building something'. That the 'future is bright, success is just around the corner'. That winning the Premier League and/or Champions League is our target, not the FA Cup. Well, guess what? Another season has passed and we've won the grand sum of nothing, yet again.

All of this at the same time Levy has decided off the back of two decent seasons (not successful ones) to charge extortionate Season Ticket prices (mine has gone up 40% - FORTY!) for 19 League matches. Oh, and to top it all off we'll happily stand aside and let one of the best centre halves in the world walk away from the Club because we refuse to pay our players the going rate. A year after letting the best RB in the country swan off to Manchester City to win the Double. Our players must be enthralled by the current 'project'.

Yep totally. As I say, I fully expect us to do it but I don’t get why the opinion that being realistic about the games and not assuming we’ll steam roller everyone is somehow negative not just pragmatic

Poch needs to tell the players to forget the past and focus on the future; 7 days, 2 games, 4 points needed

That's all it is - the season depends on it

Any reserves of energy that the players have this late in the season needs to be used up

Get out there on Wednesday night and hit Newcastle like a freight-train from the first minute

A decent leader in the team with a track-record of winning would have helped

Someone who would pull players up for poor attitude off the pitch and inspire players on the pitch

Essentially, someone that keeps our squad professional and focused

What's done is done so far, last few weeks has put us in a precarious position and there's no point complaining about it now as that won't help with what we've got to do.

Everyone has to be up.for these two games, players, fans....

If we get our high energy pressing game back we'll do it. Poch has a responsibility though to ensure we set the right tempo from the off on Wednesday evening.
