We need to look on this a positive and great opportunity to gain experience in real pressure situations. If the club intends to win things in the future games like this will become the norm.

We need to get better at these types of games so it could be a very good thing we have them, come through and we'll be stronger for it.

Newcastle played backs to the walls away v Man City. They’ll do the same Wednesday. Unless we get the early goal then it will be a very hard game. I can imagine the atmosphere if we don’t get a first half lead.

We need to start like we have not done for a while and that is with greater intensity and purpose.

I'm sick as hell right now and live in the arse end of nowhere so these midweek matches really are a **** for me to get back from, but I'll be there in full voice. If we don't have 70,000 + for both these games then we renege all right to bitch and moan if things do go tits up as far as I'm concerned. This is the time to show that we're supporters, not just fans. It's all well and good selling out and coming along for the right for a Utd home match when we're on form, but right now the chips are down, it's as big a test of us as it is of the team.
isn't the Leicester match already a sell out?

I got tickets for the Leicester match a few weeks ago and have been hoping against hope that the most it would have on it would be a chance for 3rd place. Being a Spurs fan for 50 years, however, I feared the worst and now await a very nerve wracking experience. Before I pose this question, please be assured I absolutely want nothing less than a WIN against Newcastle, but I have been contemplating how we would cope with needing to either beat Leicester or only draw with them? Would we be more likely to mess around if only a draw was required and get caught out trying to be clever/cautious? If only we had got the draw at West Brom, we would have had 2 chances to win 1 game.:nailbiting:

The thing I dread post is an early red card, a dodgy penalty given against us or a stonewall penalty denied (or all 3!) that you just know will impact on the games!

why will they play like that against us? v Man City they needed points. since they beat Arsenal, they have downed tools. if they do the same v us as they did v City, then why won't they do that on Sunday v Chelsea

I agree the only trouble with doing it too quickly, there is more chance the passes will go astray. the thing is with their recent form, I would say they have most probably been playing with a bit more openness.

I would be more worried if they needed a point for survival

actually didnt realize Huddersfield still isnt safe. they are pretty bad but maybe they'll squeeze a point out of Chelsea.

Obviously the passing needs to be accurate unlike how we were against Watford giving it up too easy, but it would be nice to stretch teams and not the usual predictable laboured stuff of late.

unless Benitez intends on trying to help Liverpool and Chelsea, I'm not sure they will sit back and defend with all men behind the ball, but then what do I know. I didn't think WBA would play that way with being desperate for points. Newcastle are desperate.

just spent the last few mins reading their match reports from the Everton, WBA and Watford games and was mentioned that their approach was "playing like a team, sitting on the beach".

edit: and looking at Leicester's injuries, they are not too strong, though I'm worried with Jan missing. think we would be better playing Davies as a CB if we decide to go 3 at the back again
