What a fantastic opportunity to take off the shackles at Wembley this weekend.

Should huge huge motivation without pressure to bend over and spank Leicester and show them it's all gonna be about the long game for us.

Hopefully Kane will get on the scoresheet and I'd like to see Toby start and hopefully change his mind.

For anyone who doesn't think we're still moving forward consider this. For the last three season’s now we've finished ahead of the previous season’s Champions. To be consistent on that level over a few seasons shows we are doing the right things. Yes, it is still short of silverware but it is maintaining a very strong level is what is becoming an increasing competitive league.

We have 2 ways to get into pot 2 of the draw. Madrid to win the champ lge as they are already in it for next season whatever. Also , unbeknown to me, the Portuguese decide their league positions on head to head, not goal difference. Benfica and Sporting are level second before the last game on Sunday . Head to head favours Sporting so they just need to win away to Maritimo to take the champ lge place. Maritimo are mid table

I'd usually 100% agree with that but this year I think it's different. Especially if this is enough to push out Chelsea's world class players (Hazard and Courtois seem to be twitchy). My wife is Chelsea :yuck: so I see a lot of them. Conte is a great manager when not sulking, they won't get better tactically, their squad has weakened big time over the last few years, even though they may pick up a title and FA Cup in that period.

Not to mention Chelsea being the main domestic rival we would have for Martial, no matter unlikely us signing him is.

The Europa point stands strong though, LFC will be a big league threat for sure. I think either possibility is a positive for us, and LFC bottling it twice would be beyond hilarious, but unless Roman is willing to put another huge chunk of cash in again, Chelsea are in bigger jeopardy than most people realise IMO.

Interesting, my mate who's a ST holder who was there last night reckon Conte sabotaged Chelsea on purpose by dropping Hazard, he's not very happy lol

Can't understand why anyone would want Liverpool in CL over Chelsea. Not having CL football has a much bigger impact on Liverpool than Chelsea.
I admit it would be funny if Liverpool bottled it at the last knockings and if it was to Burnley I'd love it but it isn't, it's Chelsea and that is reason enough.
I have to say Liverpool don't scare me whether they get CL or not it is down to us to keep improving and if we do that we'll be fine.
Any slapdown for Chelsea is ok in my book.

I used to hate Liverpool more than Chelsea, but think my mind has changed over the past couple of years, probably since we've been more competitive. The club, players and fans are just nasty.

When I look at players like Hazard, Willian, Fabregas etc they just really wind me up and that's why I prefer if they miss out. If they do, then I can definitely see Hazard going plus maybe Courtois. If we had that runt Hazard, we would probably have won the league last year or when Leicester won it, so losing him would be a huge blow for them.

Kante would actually be the biggest loss IMHO but for some reason Madrid especially don't seem to realise how good he is.

Hazard did say that he wouldn't mind staying at Chelsea, CL or no CL.

Basically this.

Chelsea are the ultimate shit-houses in football well above the scousers or indeed Arsenal.

Normally I am indifferent to Liverpool and wouldn’t really care whether they won the CL or qualified next year or not. But

  1. Woooooow, really.
  2. Their fans going on about dividing after the 2-2. Ironic given Salahs dive last week
  3. Demand Lovren.....Mr Touch
  4. The decade long wankathon should they win it
  5. It will hurt Liverpool more than Chelsea to be out of the cl next year.

Apologies if this question has already been answered but is it definitely the case that the team finishing 4th now goes straight into the group stages, ie no longer requires a play off?

Yes, 4th means CL group stage.
