This United run can’t last forever. They’re just not that good. One loss will take the wind out of their sails a bit and they’ll have to graft again.

I agree it can't last forever but as we've seen with teams like Leicester when they won the title, they could stumble their way through.

I wouldn't normally worry about them but our lack of spending coupled with crippling injury list has me fretting a bit.

So odd to say but tomorrow is now a massive game. Get 3 points and we open up a 4 point gap and 7 points to 5th and can change the narrative away from Kane’s injury. Anything less and I fear a repeat of 2011/12 with Levy failing to understand the need to spend in January to help us finish off the season strongly rather than limping over the line.

What worries me is that a win tomorrow and Levy will think "we're fine".

Some of you just don't get it ?
Levy will not just go out and buy players even in our current mini predicament.
If Pochettino does not want stop gaps and only wants players that improve the starting 11 and only certain ones at that.
The exact players he wants have to be available and obtainable it's been done to death.

Trouble is, when we are under pressure to win and especially a perceived easy fixture then we invariably fail to show up.

I agree with this, but would it be accurate to say that's more often at home?

We are fantastic away from 'home' to be fair. I think we've built up a formula and way of playing that normally does very well against the lower teams when away.

Spot on. We should take all 3 points tomorrow, Fulham have to come out and play.

But Kane and Son are a vital part of that way of playing away from home.

Alli, Lamela and Eriksen need to step up tomorrow big time with goals!

Hope Llorente scores a couple of early goals and gets taken off for the 2nd half saving him for Chelscum. Sterling makes a goal scoring debut thereafter.

Maybe so. Although I also think they're vital simply because they're very good players, as opposed to them being integral to our actual method of play. If Lamela, Eriksen and Dele all link and combine well then there's no reason why we couldn't see one of our good away performances again. The only problem now is that with with more quality players present we can get away with a couple of under-performers but there's less room for that now.

I'm of course not trying to say they're not important to our play, I just think (or at least very much hope) that we can still create good performances without them and with the players available. Similar to Chelsea away last season, we were without Kane (until very late on) and I know Son made a vital run for the 3rd goal, but I don't remember him actually being that great in that game. That day it was Dele and Eriksen who stepped up the most and ultimately won it for us, hopefully they'll take the game by the scruff of the neck tomorrow too!

Yes you are right, Poch only wants elite players who cost elite transfer fees and wages, Levy wants to pay peanuts in both fees and wages, result is we buy nobody.

I thought Llorente looked good Vs Tranmere but is anybody really expecting him to reproduce it in the Prem or just be a handful at set pieces etc. Hope so but just got that feeling he'll struggle and it will be the others who score

Alli has generally stepped it up this season, really matured in the way he is playing.

I fully expect him to pull us through until Som and Harry are back. Big moment for him
