Didn’t we scrape through 2-1 against them at Wembley earlier in the season and that was with Kane, and maybe Son?

Don’t get me wrong, we should be winning this but then we should’ve beat Wolves and Watford
Wembley innit.

No excuses

I agree. If we lose today it’s coz we’ve played shit.

For the record I think we’ll sneak it again but I’m getting ready for a nervy game.
To be honest, I’m not even expecting it to be nervy. I think Llorente with come out with a huge point to prove

A few points in response:

1) While many won’t agree with me I hold Levy responsible for the delay, he is by far the highest paid chairman in the league and he had one primary role which he has failed spectacularly. In contrast the fans did our part paying up to give the club the highest gate receipts in world football
2) The issues with the stadium delay were only revealed after the last window closed so either that wasn’t an excuse or Levy lied because he knew for some time the stadium would be delayed
3) All the above really applies to the last window, by all accounts the stadium will open in the next 6-8 weeks, surely we the fans deserve to watch a team there that is befitting the stadium

You continue to be a proponent of our owners spending nothing on our playing squad even after they announced record financial results and it has been shown yet again just how much operating cashflow they have utilised already on capital projects. At this point you seem more a fan of ENIC and Daniel Levy than you do of the team because I don’t see any ambition at all in any of your posts. Sorry if I can’t join you in going along with our owners distinct lack of ambition.

I've been supporting Spurs since the age of 6, 48 years ago. I've seen us go down a division, I've seen a lot of shit teams, and I've also seen us lift trophies. I saw what was happening in the 90's and there is no way back then I'd imagine we would of made CL football for 3 seasons running. I saw teams like Man U and Arsenal as good as dominate, and the only thing that stopped that was Chelsea and Man City.

when Enic took over we were SHIT!!!! but I'm still here, and have seen massive progress since 2005 (done by spending), not since Poch took over but 2005. we was playing in a 36k stadium a stadium that was never going to take us up a level, and no way in a position to compete with any of the top 5 in the financial world, so I'm grateful for what ENIC have achieved. Yes they have made errors just like everyone does, but you ignore or have no proof that we never went for the players Poch wanted. we also already had a squad too big that needed trimming, but we never sold any. we have also heard Poch didn't want plan B's to Z.

Last seasons profits of 58m was a one off, unfortunately other clubs have been making that for donkeys, but in todays market doesn't buy a marquee signing, and this squad we have deserves to set foot in the New stadium, they have earnt it, and by the sounds of it, we won't be in till next season now.

Every new stadium sees price increases. when Arsenal finished theirs it was the most expensive to buy a ST at. I expect the rising cost since Brexit meant ST's are more than they 1st intended, but you wouldn't see that side

edit: you act like a little kid that never got his toys at Xmas, and definitely don't understand the power Man C, Chelsea, Man U and Liverpool have when it comes to signing players

If by agenda you mean that I’d like us to spend some money on elite players commensurate with having the most expensive tickets in world football then yes I’m guilty.

If by hyperbole you mean I’ve missed us sign said players then feel free to post the details.

Davinson Sanchez did not cost peanuts.

Hope you’re right. We need to play to his strengths though. Maybe if Trippier plays he might get on the score sheet but KT has been a liability recently too.

I’ll be you a massive £5 to SC Llorente doesn’t score today.

I remember when Hoddle was our manager. We used to finish the season on 50 points to give us a chance of qualifying for the UEFA Cup. A win today will already take us to 51! It’s amazing how far we’ve come and we’ve improved consistently, none of this flash in the pan stuff.

I thought Llorente looked good Vs Tranmere but is anybody really expecting him to reproduce it in the Prem or just be a handful at set pieces etc. Hope so but just got that feeling he'll struggle and it will be the others who score

I stand corrected. Great finish

It was a set piece though

That was like us 4/5 years ago proper shithouse performance but always won 1-2 at the death, normally it was Eriksen though

Yeah, Poch's first two seasons had loads of those.

This puts us well in command for third. Just have to hope we can hold out until Son returns and Kane is back and fint.

Alright, I've been calm up till this point, but where do I sign up for the mass panic, that performance was terrible and seeing dele go down, I don't see how we get past Chelsea. Really difficult.

Next three games are winnable home matches. Win those and we should have a ten point cushion over 5th.

Update..after round 23

The (expected) ‘top 6’ are judged against the following ridiculously high expectation: they will win ALL home games; they will win all away games – except those against ‘top 6’ rivals, which they will lose. That would give a total of 105 points.
As the season progresses a running total is kept of points dropped or gained against that standard (examples: City draw at Wolves = minus 2; City win at Arsenal = plus 3).

After 23 games
(deviations from expectation shown)

Liverpool, love them or (more likely) hate them you have to slowly shake your head and reluctantly begin to clap. They are on course for a 108 point season Slip. Please slip. City still further clear of us mortals than the actual table suggests; the mortals themselves are bunching, with United sliding past our London rivals and only still below us due to Sir Harry Winks.
