Mad to think if we beat city we go above them with over a quarter of the season played

At the moment it's a game I'm certainly not looking forward to... They'll butcher us on current form.

However, Poch has a huge opportunity to use this game as a chance to up our collective performance level.

And in all honesty we're going to have just to make a game out of it.

But games like this we normally up it, so let's hope it's the case.

I think a win over PSV will change the mood in the media puts us right back in CL group and really set up the city game. It has been a slightly weird start to season. Losing x4 not really playing great and yet our best ever PL start. And if we’d hung on at Watford we’d now be top.

I would love to think we could give City a game, but the thing that worries me the most is tactical naivety. If we do what we did against Liverpool and continue to have our fullbacks so high up the pitch, the game will be over before it's begun.

Southgate actually mentioned us by name too before these internationals as being the club most effected by the short time between the World Cup and the start of the season and yet still played all our players, two of them for 180 minutes.

Southgate is part of the problem and typical of him and his PR spin around his role as England manager.
It's his job to get results for the national team, if he thinks our players are the best fit to do that you can't blame him for playing them.

It would help if we played better as well, we really were nowhere near our best that day.

Mad to think if we held on for 20 minutes at Watford we'd be top of the league. We've really not played well at all but are in touch with the top. Monday night could be the game we need in respect that we have to be on it from the start to get something out of it. And if we do it'll be a statement to others, but more importantly to ourselves that we can compete.

Man City odds on to win, massive game and massive ask to get anything out of it, lets hope we prove the media and bookies wrong.

I just don’t see it with Arsenal. You look at their squad and they’ve basically got two decent players. These run of 9 games were ridiculously easy. Everton home was probably the toughest. I just can’t see them maintaining a top 4 challenge especially with Europa commitments as well.

I hope people realise the Man City game won't define our season.
A draw would be a great result considering our current performances.
A loss isn't the end of our season.

We’ve won 15 of last 25 away games. If you added that to our 16/17 home form we really wouldn’t be far off a title. Convinced Wembley has actually helped our away form.

4 out of their next 5 are away if you include Europe, which you need to for #momentum

Long flight to Azerbaijan for Europa. Away to Fulham after - should win but Fulham need a reaction and will fancy it at the Cottage. Home to Leicester, that will be tight game. Never more than a goal in it and Leicester going well. Then away in Europa again, this time Portugal. Then away to Palace, which should be a tight game. Again rarely more than a goal in it. Then home to Liverpool, who are trucking and who Arsenal haven’t beaten in their last 6 attempts. Then Lisbon at home. Then Wolves at home (assuming you meant next 5 in league) also trucking.

I wouldn’t say that was an easy run personally. Certainly not easier than our current run of league fixtures

Stick or twist?

*Wingbacks. Essential for them to be high up for us to press high up.

Half of the problem this season is that they've been too deep due to the lack of discipline in defensive midfield leaving opposing defenders and midfielders too much time to pick passes to their forwards.

Midfield is the issue.

We've got a fight for 4th, long hard season and all that but Arsenal will be up there fighting, more than last season anyway.

Not ruling out Utd either.

But 'wingbacks' aren't commonly used in a 4 man defence, more so a 5 man defence. You can't be so naive to have Trippier and Davies half way up the pitch with Sane and Sterling behind them and expect nothing bad to come from it. You can't expect our midfield to pressure and cut the supply off to the wings and forwards so often, especially when that midfield consists of Silva and De Bruyne.

We don't play a high pressure game well enough to negate Man City. We will get picked off if we approach this in a way that doesn't adapt to their strengths.

Since last season they've been on a different level to all other Prem teams (including Liverpool who, as a couple of weeks ago proved, are still inferior to them). We'll get nout from the City game. Would love to be proven wrong but only the most deluded will think we stand a chance, alas. Arse above us for a bit yet, just need to grin and bare it.

Arsenal are so weird. I swear every single game I’ve seen them even pre season they’ve been a car crash for 30 minutes and then start playing. Were incredibly lucky not to be 0-3 and down to 10 men. Very confusing absolutely no idea if they’ve been very lucky or are half decent.

Weird thing is if we were to beat city which is not completely inconceivable they could go down to 5th.
