Bit unlucky as usual it seems to play them up there when they need a 'reaction' performance.

Anyway, hoping that this is the 3-year implosion for Moaner and Utd.

The only team that looks/is well ahead of us is Citeh. I can honestly see the scousers dropping points to lesser teams again. To the huge surprise of their puzzled and deluded fan base

We can certainly get a result at OT next week. Yes, they'll be looking to placate the home support after today but the Fulham performance gave us plenty to feel good about. Kane with that August thing out of his head, Trippier on top form, Lucas scoring a beauty, Lamela and Dembele making big contributions from the bench and HW back in the frame.

The mood in our camp should be pretty positive tomorrow morning. Mourinho has to pick his squad up this week and who knows if they even listen to him anymore? If Brighton can beat them we certainly can .

The Palace game tomorrow will be fascinating. The kind of game Liverpool have to win if they're to improve on last season but Selhurst Park for a Monday night game will be jumping and any points they bring back will be hard earned.

I don't think Chelsea or United are ahead of us in the top four race at all. Liverpool could be but I'll wait till October/November before I call that one, I think.

not really, I hated them but I didn't actually seeing us as being to compete with the really good teams under Wenger

Difference between Goons over us in the early 00s was way bigger than the difference between us over them now. Like it or not we're still very much each other's competition, and we will be until we're consistently demolishing them home and away each season.

You do know that Liverpool beat Palace last season 2-1?

Next week is a long time in football, they might have Matic and Sanchez back, and also in front of their own crowd. We have to take the game to them, and hopefully Kane gets another hoodoo out the way by scoring at OT.

Win that and it will be a big lift, we have to hope burnout doesn’t hit us by Xmas, though to be honest even though we had 9 players involved upto the last weekend in the WC, the only team out of the top 6 teams that didn’t have its main men involved late on was Liverpool.

Was good to hear they've been given a couple of days off because the game is on Monday, hopefully we keep doing that through the season.

It’s a pity that Lindelof was so useless yesterday as I was looking forward to Kane and Alli taking him apart. Odds on he will be dropped after that disaster of a game. It’s time we turned up at Old Trafford. Last 4 years we have played as if we know we cannot win there. Time to stand up and be counted we need to win some of these big away games....certainly not get beat.

I wonder how people would be judging Liverpool if they hadn’t got to CL final. Essentially in that cup run they beat 1 team of worth city. Who for whatever reason Klopp seems to have peps number. Does that cup run bare any relation to winning PL. There style is much more suited to cup runs as they can play their high intensity game when needed. But can they do that over 38 games in PL and the CL I very much doubt it. In reality they’ve bought 1 outfield player that will improve a 4th place team. Yes Alisson will also likely be an upgrade. But is that really enough to take them from 4tb to challenging for 1st ? Still believe there is a huge amount of unsubstantiated hype around Liverpool.

Like most here i cant stand pool buuuutt they score alot of goals and many teams still s*** the bed at anfield.
They will have a very good home record and they will win alot of points away as home teams are encouraged to attack them and it opens up space for there fast attackers.

I think we will know a lot more after tonight. If they dispense of palace easily then I might take notice. Can’t judge anything by that West Ham game.

Four of the supposed top six start off with maximum points from two games. One has lost to two of said top six, and one had a mishap at Brighton.

It was absolutely vital that we got a good start this season, maybe even more so than previously.

Really, why can't we finish 3rd this year. I do think City & Liverpool are out of reach but a suspect Man U & really shaky looking Chelsea defence can surely be got at. I think we'll secure 3rd

Still think Liverpool lack the creative midfielder like a silva Eriksen type at least as an option. Keita is good but he’s much the same in a sense as mane and Salah just plays a bit deeper. It’s all high energy and sometimes lacks a bit of craft. Think things will be much same as last season, City by a mile rest scrapping for 2nd.

Was thinking exactly the same thing earlier. So much industry and let's be honest their top 3 works so well together. Their issue is with a little string puller when teams drop deep. I know he isn't in the same class but could a cameo from Shaqiri with 20 minutes left be their trump card? Time will tell

Pundits are a joke. Saw that thing from bbc I think 5 out of 30 put us in top 4. Ask them after 2 games I bet 20-25 will now put us top 4.

Happens every season. Everyone gets carried away with all the new signings, & vice versa for the clubs that don't spend. Remember how Everton apparently won the transfer window last year? And us the year we lost Bale? I try to remind myself of this fact every year, but every year I cant help but get a bit caught up in the bullshit newspaper narrative that the only way to have a successful window is by buying a bunch of randoms from abroad. I need to etch it on my brain or something -> short any clubs that turnover more than say 4 players, bonus points if they change the manager, and go long the ones that favour stability over flashy names.

it’s their opinion and what they want to happen, until we start winning things we will always be seen as the outsiders in the top 6 race. I predicted we will finish 5th because I see our failure to strengthen our CM could cost us, I also believe the new stadium might not be a fortress straightaway.

After seeing Uniteds last 2 games I’d now put us to finish top 4, but we haven’t faced anyone decent yet, and will see how we are doing at the halfway mark before I make my final judgement. At the moment I’d say Arse and United will miss out, but we will have to wait and see. Just because United lost to Brighton it doesn’t guarantee us anything on Monday.
