Put to much pressure on ourself with the new stadium and a large number of away games early on

I thought I’d have a look where Chelsea were at this time 2 seasons ago.
https://bleacherreport.com/articles...tandings-week-7-fixtures-after-week-6-results

They were eighth after 6 games and 8 points off the lead. What I’m saying is that it’s early doors. Lots of football to be played.

They then went on to win 12 straight with no Europe and nether had 9 players involved in the later stages of the euros.

In our next 12 we are due to face City, chelsea, and The gooners. I’d love to have faith but struggling as I’m still waiting to see us look like a team our opponents would fear

Yet we know football, things can change for the better in an instance.

Yes I know, but our energy in matches is still so slow, and even our chances have deteriorated. We had 11 efforts v Fulham, and was mentioned on sky the other day we have only had 11 since.

I’m worried that either the stadium is causing a lot of stress, or because the size of Kane’s new contract that the rise the others have had offered doesn’t come close to being in line, or they are so pissed off with our lack of transfer activity and feel the club aren’t showing enough ambition, or a case of everything. Something ain’t right, and even though it’s still early between now and January if we stay in the CoC we will near on be playing twice a week

edit: I wake up look at my usual links that give news headlines, and see "the sun" are saying that Eriksen (deserves a decent and closer contract), Toby (think the offer made in January is in-line with most top CB), and Rose (who has either been injured, or very poor) wanting to be given sufficient rises in line with Kane

The Sun article is a joke though.

First we don’t pay them enough. Then we pay them what the media want us to. Now it’s too much because other players want the same.

Plus, if other players can't see that Kane should be the highest paid player at the club then footballers really are as stupid as the stereotype.

Not convinced bt Chelsea yet. Apart from Arsenal, which they could quite easily have lost, all the teams beaten will prob finish bottom half. Cardiff Huddersfield Newcastle prob get relegated. Bournemouth are the other team they beat. Interesting how they get on against the hammers this afternoon. The defence is decidedly dodgy.

People have massively jumped the gun suggesting Chelsea are definites for top 4. There’s not enough goals in their team and I still think their CB’s can be got at. On paper yes their central midfield 3 look better than ours (even though Jorginho was awful today) but we’re better on paper defensively and have better attacking options overall.

No reason whatsoever we shouldn’t be aiming to finish above them again.

I wouldn't say we are better defensively whether on paper or in real terms as we struggle to keep a clean sheet only one so far not much to shout about.

Even so there’s nothing between us, would be weak mentality to suggest otherwise.
City and Liverpool are ahead but it’ll be two from the other four.

No weak mentality from me mate I always bang on about the club winning stuff plus I fucking hate losing as many will often atest to, however if your referring to the players being a bit weak so far then I would agree two games running late goals conceded.

Yeah players, we’re as good as them and be weak to be not aiming to finish above them. They need to be far more confident in their ability and start wiping the floor with some of these teams, hopefully that starts at Huddersfield.

If we don’t finish above united and Arsenal this season I’d be hugely disappointed.
I think we'll be looking at a lower number of points needed for 4th than we've seen in recent years - perhaps in the mid-60s. I think Arsenal and United are both pretty bad, we're below our normal standard, and Chelsea aren't brilliant.
