Hope you said a proper good bye to that lump :(

They are not that good we were just utter tripe against them

They are a good team, solid defensively and awesome attack. They were not good and we were just utter tripe - you can say the same about us against Manure (although they are shit to be honest) but point is - its more than just about the make up of the team, its about mentality and we were shite - thats why they are better.

We are doing well without performing well but think the performances are certainly improving now. Should beat Cardiff and fill our boots next week - id want us to make up that goal difference.

I do think the league is open this year and it isnt just a two horse race as the media keep spouting out. The question is - do we have enough to be consistent - given the injuries and even fatigue.

I would also like to think that if we do go into our new stadium by December it will give us that extra push and become that catalyst for a real push on the title if we are still there or there abouts by Christmas.

I never said they were shit
I just don't think they are half as good as everyone makes out and on form we are still the better side
Sadly we are not at the mo but normally start slow.

I just hate that everyone seems to rate them as title winners this year when they have done feck all.

I agree that everyone appears to be too hastily judging them as title winners but would make it even the more sweeter when they don't win it. Next weekend we could close the gap between us and the top two/three - Man city and Liverscum playing each other and in my view I would rather Liverscum losing just to knock them off a bit although I suspect a draw maybe the best result for us.

Whether on form we are the better side or not, I'm not sure but we have started well given the performances (disregarding the two car crash performances against Watford and Liverscum)

I wouldn't be surprised if we still finish above them.

Did you see their game at home to Everton? If Everton had a striker they would've been 5 up before arsenal scored. Their defence is a joke.
The natural luck they have will see them through that phase.

They are gaining steam.

Naturally, I hope they get relegated and will celebrate every/any failure that comes their way.

Unfortunately, I smell a resurgence.

Time will tell, but that's my view.

Watford also should have whipped them yesterday. They were so lucky to win that game.

That said, they’re winning while playing poorly

Don’t disagree entirely but they were woeful yesterday. Way worse than us and should have lost. They’ve not really played well all season and have won games regularly they should have lost. Although that is ominous in itself

Goons are a strange team. Don’t look solid at the back at all, that young midfielder is an entertaining player, in a bad way! Lots of effort but massively erratic. Odd flashes of brilliance from their talented forwards mixed with a lack of consistency and substance.
I think ( and hope ) they’ll lose games against the better sides

If we could just find the form we know we have in us! Even if we could find and reproduce a run similar to last season it would see us very close to the top. My heart says we can suddenly turn around our playing form and make a big push for the top but my head says this poor showing will continue and we will struggle to battle for 4th.

If we win against Cardiff next week we'll have our best ever points total in the PL after 8 games.

However, you have to be absolutely delusional to think our squad is good enough to compete with Man City's and win the title. I would be surprised if Chelsea can go the distance too, given their reliance on Hazard and the lack of a top quality CF. Liverpool have an outside chance and they do have a deep squad with lots of cover, but still, I think City's players on the whole are superior, especially with Salah seemingly not quite on form.

On paper we'll come 4th this year. I can't really see us coming any higher, and whilst I could see Arsenal or Man Utd finishing above us I'd be surprised.

Given the weirdness of the window and the delay in us actually playing genuine home games, I’d bite your arm off to finish in the top four

The period between December 15th and February 9th, the busiest time of year, sees us play seven out of ten league games at home (or Wembley, whichever). That run will almost certainly be crucial for us and if we are still top four when that run starts I'll back us to finish there comfortably.

Arsenal will surely start to drop points soon, yesterday was another game in which they were somewhat fortunate, not playing very well, 2 shots on target and two goals yesterday and people praise them now for their record, but wait until they lose and people start to admit and outline that they were fortunate and didn't play greatly well in those games in that run and all of a sudden their shortcomings will come to light. They must be doing something right I guess, but I'm still far from convinced.

4 out of their next 5 are away if you include Europe, which you need to for #momentum

Long flight to Azerbaijan for Europa. Away to Fulham after - should win but Fulham need a reaction and will fancy it at the Cottage. Home to Leicester, that will be tight game. Never more than a goal in it and Leicester going well. Then away in Europa again, this time Portugal. Then away to Palace, which should be a tight game. Again rarely more than a goal in it. Then home to Liverpool, who are trucking and who Arsenal haven’t beaten in their last 6 attempts. Then Lisbon at home. Then Wolves at home (assuming you meant next 5 in league) also trucking.

I wouldn’t say that was an easy run personally. Certainly not easier than our current run of league fixtures

Agree, and even taking out Europa and travel I wouldn't call Fulham, Leicester, Palace away (Selhurst is always tough), Liverpool and Wolves an easy run at all given how those teams look these days.

I agree but that paragraph could so very easily be written about us (bar the two shots thing)

Yeah that's true, but we know we can reach a certain level with this same group of players, a high one at that. Arsenal are much more of an unknown with a new manager and a few different players. We are underperforming and winning, whilst Arsenal can't say the same in that they're underperforming and still picking up points, even if their performances are somewhat the same as ours as for all we know this just might be their standard level.
