Arsenal are so weird. I swear every single game I’ve seen them even pre season they’ve been a car crash for 30 minutes and then start playing. Were incredibly lucky not to be 0-3 and down to 10 men. Very confusing absolutely no idea if they’ve been very lucky or are half decent.
Winning 10 in a row is not down to luck, no doubt they have had there fair share, but ultimately they have massively improved and have a good manager. I don’t currently see them continuing this form all season, but if they strengthen well in Jan then they could push us out of fourth place. We really need to step up a gear, I know on points we are doing well, but I’m still very unconvinced by our performances.

Scum mate was saying that every PL game they won they were drawing at HT. Pointless stat but was surprised to hear it

Not down to luck but they haven't faced a top side in those 10. Europa games against nothing teams are mixed in.

You can only beat whats in front of you though. It will be tight between us but think we can finish above.

I just don’t see it with Arsenal. You look at their squad and they’ve basically got two decent players. These run of 9 games were ridiculously easy. Everton home was probably the toughest. I just can’t see them maintaining a top 4 challenge especially with Europa commitments as well.

They are playing better than us and attacking with far more fluidity, we could actually learn a thing or two from them.

I wouldn't be surprised it Arsenal find themselves on a title race at some point of the season. Against Leicester their attack was City-like at times.

They could have been 3-0 down.

That they are not as great as people are making out and have major flaws.
The last big team they played was chelsea who beat them.

I don't know how great people are making them out to be, but what I saw today was a team with far better chemistry than us, and I would be lying if I say that doesn't worry me a bit. Their attacking today reminded me of our attacking during our best years under Pochetino.

Who cares if they lost against City and Chelsea, that was at the begining of the season and it probably was just the reflection of a team still finding their shape under new managment.

They were an utter shambles in first 30 mins could have been 0-3 and down to 10 men. And that’s happened virtually every PL game. Leicester easily could have had 4. Penalty, maguire open goal and hit the bar. Although we haven’t been entirely convincing I haven’t seen us overrun like they were for 30 minutes. Even Liverpool wasn’t that bad. And Watford was x2 set pieces they didn’t have another shot.

They have looked better going forward than us so far this season, great chemistry being shown, as you say. I'd be encouraged if I were an Arsenal fan. But, they've ridden their luck up to now, and their defensive frailties are clear to see.

Us? Well, we haven't got out of second gear yet, we're dealing with key, debilitating injuries to our team/squad, also notoriously bad starters to a PL campaign...and yet, we're level on points.

Think we'll be fine. Our coach, squad, team have been together longer than Arse's; we're more solid as a unit. I just think we're a better team, and it will show over the course of a season, at least this season.

We haven't been great, no doubt. I was contesting the comparison to city. They were utter shit the first 30 mins and should have been more than 1-0 down.

They had a full preseason that we didn't and have been far more lucky with injuries.

People spend a couple of seasons saying they want Wenger to stay because he is the problem and are then surprised when the team plays well under a new coach. Arsenal have found a rhythm and will be a challenger this season, the positive though is that we are stuttering along still way off our best yet are right up there, we will improve.

To be fair the teams that they have had to play havent really been that great, and of those team they have played, the hardest have been at home and the weakest have been away.
That said 10 games won in a row including Europa League & League Cup, isnt that great of an achievement. If it was 10 games in the league then its a great achievement.

I would love to think we could give City a game, but the thing that worries me the most is tactical naivety. If we do what we did against Liverpool and continue to have our fullbacks so high up the pitch, the game will be over before it's begun.
If we do that we all deserve the sack.

Great achievement or not I'd take it.

Credit where its due and their attack is frightening at times, but they're so open at the back. They were a shambles until Leicester scored and decided to stop attacking. 2nd half they didn't get out of their half. Maddison didn't fancy it after a kick or two and Vardy with either injured or had the shits. Against a team that doesn't warrant any defensive responsibility, it's no wonder the pressure finally told. That 3rd goal was sublime to be fair but I don't see that happening against a top side.

I totally agree and was going to post the same. For some reason, Poch seems to think that we can go toe to toe against Man City. We've actually played better when we've eased off a bit and break quickly. He's got good results against the top teams, especially at home so he does know how to do it.

In Pep's first season, they had won 7 or 8 in a row and came to WHL and we spanked them and I remember we had Kane out and maybe 1 or 2 more. Poch changed the tactics and think he went 4 1 4 1 with no recognized striker. Obviously since then they've spent another £250m (inc outgoings) and strengthened, whereas we've broken even.

Poch has had a 2 week international break so hopefully he's plotted his tactics and selection for the PSV and City game as it's a crucial week.

Oh, and keep Kane up top and don't get him dropping team!!

This is classic arsenal and what they do with no pressure and no one paying attention to them

This was the table at Christmas last year

Let’s see if they can maintain this rather than worrying about them
