Good teams who dominate tend to be "lucky". You won't get any luck if you don't try to score.

True, but jeez when we dominate we don't seem to get those breaks to the same extent!

But look they deserved to beat United. Can't stand Liverpool but a blind man could see that.

Watched the match at my cousins (who's also Spurs) and two Liverpool fans - fuck so arrogant it's unreal. They couldn't understand why we wanted United to win as they thought it didn't matter regardless, we're no threat etc

Chelsea fans might be the scummiest but in terms of annoying/irritating it's Liverpool all day long.

Football won mate, they deserved to lose!
Absolutely! Shameful capitulation-inducing set up by Mourinho, even beyond his usual park the bus stuff at Anfield. Liverpool totally deserved their result.

Credit where it's due, Klopp's done a great job over there. He's been backed financially admittedly, but still sorted most of their squad needs unlike Utd.

Still, they've been lucky re injuries. Any long-term injury to a Mane or Salah, and we'll see their squad depth.

The term "man" (from Proto-Germanic*mannaz or *manwaz "man, person") and words derived from it can designate any or even all of the human race regardless of their sex or age. In traditional usage, man itself refers to the species, to humanity, or "mankind", as a whole.

Unless you are suggesting that you are not a human being.

I seem to have backed myself into a corner here...:cautious:

Gotta disagree with you all there I'm afraid !! I'm the only Spurs fan surrounded by family of Liverpool fans as we live in NW between it and Manchester !! Hearing the hatred between both sets of "fans" at work you'd think different. Munich, Heysel and Hillsborough always comes up. Those Liverpool fans along with Me detest the Mancs above every other. Ferguson instilled cheating, diving, manipulating referees and more by bullying. The fans revelled in it ! Any decent player we had - they got ie. Carrick, Berbatov?. Remember when Carroll fetched the ball out of the net but goal disallowed?? Three reasons why I can't stand the Mancs and cheer whenever they lose ! Yesterday was one of them. I'd rather Liverpool won the PL than either Manc side. Like it or not, LFC strengthened and spent well. Shaquiri basement bargain. Allison and Van Dyk. If Spurs had the backing that they do and spend money where needed, we would be challenging - but we don't and won't be ! So maybe you don't get the point ! Wait till the Mancs come knocking for Pochettino. Then what?

I see what you're saying but at the same time it's not like we had much choice. We're in the midst of an injury crisis in the middle of the park with Wanyama, Dembele, and Dier all unavailable for the foreseeable future and our fixture congestion was such that Poch felt he needed to rotate. We can't recall the loanees until January so Skipp was the only option.

It will be interesting to see what we do with Onomah once the transfer window is open again. Reading through his thread in the Loanwatch forum it really seems as though he definitely needs to get out of his current loan. If he continues to be overlooked despite the obvious need for central midfielders then you may well be right that the writing is on the wall.
The problem is that Onomah continues to underachieve in the Championship so I think the writing is on the wall for him. Skipp seems to be much more active. Is Amos on loan somewhere?

Yes have to say klopp came in around 2015 and from around 9th place was roughly where they were to being in a position to challenge now is an impressive job.
Although he has had decent backing from his board which has helped he still has put together a fine side even more remarkable given that they have no recognised striker instead rely on advanced midfield players interchangeable and with pace very difficult to defend against.

If the mancs came knocking for poch want can we do IF he wanted to leave he would get serious funding to compete plus big wages for himself and his players a lot of manager's would rightly be tempted.

Couldn't do much, but I would doubt he would want to go at this stage, for a number of reasons:

1) it would take sometime to sort out the mess at United before he could truly weave his magic, why would he want to stagnate his extremely impressive upward trajectory as a manager at the moment? Would be a big gamble in that respect.

2) I genuinely believe he's very happy here and with the new stadium imminent it's hard to understand why someone would want to leave here for, albeit a massive Club, that is in diseray.

3) Finally, even if tempted, I don't think he would leave yet. I think he wants to win something with this group of players.

But look its naive to think he wouldn't think about it, but I reckon he would conclude its the wrong time for him and he's much more to gain by staying at Spurs, certainly in the short-medium term.

And whoever takes the job will always have Fergusons legacy in their shadow.

Agree I'm actually in the camp of I think he will stay and try to win something it would be nice which was why I used capitals on if.
Although Utd have all the prestige and global appeal we are probably in a better place right now with the stadium due anytime soon and the stability which has seen us maintain a steady course so far.

Never expected us to be in our current position. Let's stay within touching distance of 1st. If our injury situation eases and Poch continues to blood a youngster or two then we in for an exciting 2nd half to the season.

If Poch only uses his core group in midfield, we could run them into the ground and fade away, much like we did in April/May last season.

Lets maintain the momentum and beat Everton next week. I believe it gets a tad bit easier after that game.

I might be wrong but didn’t we only lose two games in the league after December? Won 14 drew 4 lost 2

He would consider it of course, but the media narrative that if Man U want him he'll go is nonsense. Same with Real Madrid in the summer. Some in the press just couldn't understand it.

The fact is our club and Man U are in completely different places to when we had to let Berbatov go 10 years ago. If we were the same clubs then as now, then Harry Kane and Dele would already be Man U players.

The fact is they haven't even made a move for either because they know, it would be pointless, as even Mourinho admitted. So if they know they cannot take our top players why should they expect to take our Manager.

We are a completely different club to the helpless thing we once were.

I agree mostly with that, but If Poch wanted to go we couldn't demand anywhere near the same figures as we could for kane - which is why they havnt bothered trying to lure him, the figure is far too big a deterrent.

So it would come down to what Poch wanted really but I'm confident he wouldn't be interested at this point in time.

I get the beginning part, but the finishing part I can’t just get my head around I’m afraid.

What point is there to get?

That we’ve finished higher up the league than Liverpool in recent years?
That we are only like 5 points behind them currently?

We are challenging and have been.

Without the spend of Klopp either. 5 points is nothing, one weekend swing changes that entirely, we are absolutely in the race

What we are doing is nothing short of superb, zero spend this year and hardly a penny in net spend since poch joined, finished above Liverpool on a fraction of their spend, yet we still ain’t happy??

Absolutely staggering.

This shows how we have been affected by injuries. As you can see, Chelsea and Liverpool have been very fortunate. Spurs and City the worst. Shows how remarkable we have been doing considering.....

Amos suffered knee ligament damage in September and is out for the season. Such a shame
