If us and city stay close the pressure on Liverpool will be enormous. None of their players will have experienced anything like it. The “Gerrard slip” will way heavy on their minds. Their bottle job in 13/14 is up there with Newcastle’s. Even though we get accused of bottling it we have no real scars we were never in the lead in the first place.,Ultimately I think the whole frenzy that will be going on will be their downfall. Just imagine how many times the Gerrard slip will be mentioned in the last few weeks.
Klopp has already started the process of trying to manage it with his talk of enjoying the ride but it tells me he starting to worry in case it starts getting to them.

Klopp:
“I’ve heard how many times in the last 10 years that when you’re first at Christmas you win the title but only Liverpool don’t. It’s all bullshit. What is it? What does it mean? It’s a different team, a different time, everything was different. It’s not interesting."

Pressure's mounting!

Interesting - have you got the reference for that quote?

They thought that even when we were finishing above them season after season to be honest.

Yeah, I mentioned it on this site a year or two ago that one of my Liverpool supporting cousins here in Ireland was unaware that we were continually finishing ahead of them - apart from the Stevie GBH/Born Slippy year.

LIverpool's next 3 are crucial, without a doubt.

With Newcastle and Arsenal at home then a visit to Man city on Thursday I'm hoping they have a little (or big) wobble.

Raheem Sterling apparently thinks we have no chance:

“[Liverpool are] a great team, great players, not just the forwards but solid at the back. It’s a credit to them what they have done this season and that makes it even better for the league that we have got these strong competitors like Liverpool, Chelsea, otherwise it would be boring.”

I'll never forgive him.

I saw that game. Van Dijk was fantastic. Traoré was well up for that game and Van Dijk had him and everyone else in his pocket. He was so calm and made defending Traorés pace look easy
He is quite simply playing on another level at the moment
Lovren is absolutely hopeless. VVD is keeping that defence together

I watched it too and I stand by what I said, I thought VVD looked a little shaky first half he had moments but I thought he had a couple where he was out of position, 2nd half is a different story.

I didn’t see the VVD against Wolves in it’s entirety but has anyone mentioned that Wolves aren’t exactly Brazil 1970’s and Traore is in fact pretty fucking average?

It’s a mid table premier league side with one eye on the relegation battle!

I reckon Brazil 1970 would struggle these days against this Wolves side. I know they were good but most of them must be pushing 70 now

Half time scores mean we're joint 2nd. Not in the title race, right? Win today, win Saturday we'll be above City and 3 points behind Liverpool (providing they win today) before Sunday. We then play again before they face each other. We can really put the pressure on in the next week!

If we go joint second, it won't be a 3 horse race. It'll be title race over

I wonder what Sterling thinks now...
