Everyone will drop points between now and the end, and if they don't then fair on them. Odd's are stacked against us more than the others, but looking at the games, if we can come away from Anfield with a point and Stamford Bridge with 1 or 3 then I think we'll take it to the wire. City though have a decent run in and blow most of those teams away so United could be pivotal. Then it's up to us at the Etihad, to which I think we need to win if we only draw at Anfield.

Liverpool I don't think will have the nerve or the squad to hold on to any lead they may have, especially with 2 teams chasing them down. Can see them getting more draws like they did last night and ultimately falling to 3rd - but I have it as City pipping us by a point.

How did Poch not use his connections to get Higuain to come to us on loan instead? I think as long as we don't pick up more injuries we can challenge since we have a fantastic starting 11 but little depth. Question is, will Liverpool drop enough points to let teams catch them?

Because he will start every game for them. Once Kane is back, it's not so certain. Now Sonny is back though, we're not as reliant on Llorente. Whereas Chelsea were getting rid of Morata and needed a new striker, because they never play Giroud,

What are his connections with Higuain, apart from the fact that they are both Argentian?

Higuain was successful at Napoli under Sarri and he's probably on wages which we won't pay.

We couldn’t afford his meal allowances.

Update..after round 25

The (expected) ‘top 6’ are judged against the following ridiculously high expectation: they will win ALL home games; they will win all away games – except those against ‘top 6’ rivals, which they will lose. That would give a total of 105 points.
As the season progresses a running total is kept of points dropped or gained against that standard (examples: City draw at Wolves = minus 2; City win at Arsenal = plus 3).

At last, at bloody last, Liverpool begin to leak points. Too little too late? Let´s heartily hope not. City hang on to their coat tails but unfortunately, the inconvenient truth shown by my table below is that the other table, you know, the official premier league table, is giving a false impression: by this measure we are closer to the chasing pack than the heady heights. Only victories in Liverpool and Manchester will fix that. Not a problem is it?

Really hard knowing what want from City results. But right now I think a pincer attack on Liverpool is the best. Get them out the way then can fight it out with City at the etihad.

Thats very different to saying 'people getting carried away'....

While its sucks we cant get into new stadium, the cold hard facts also point out our impeccable away record inspite of injuries, late WC arrivals, 0 preseason for first XI, stadium issues, no transfers etc etc etc....

We have had nothing going for us this season -yet here we are, winning same number of games as City & Liverpool.

Ofcourse, it will be a tough job away at City & Liverpool. But its ridiculous to say - we have a bad record at Liverpool & City , so we will not win there this time too...We have turned our away record at United, we have turned our record against Chelsea too. We have the best away record this season, but somehow according to you that goes out of the window at those 2 clubs.

If we can't cherish & relish the opportunity we are given now, whats the point of supporting the team...Its like saying, I will believe Spurs can win the league, after Spurs win the league.

There was a stat sometime back ,which looked at points puttogether for 3 years, and we came no1 across 3 seasons. Yet fell short in a single season - that doesn't say we are not good enough. It just says we are challenging year in year out. Our points record in 2016/17 of 86 wins PL title atleast 7 or 8 times in the past PL years.

So its up to you - how you want to view this - glass half empty or half full

Half full for me most seasons with our current points tally we would be top.
The 2nd placed team this season could possibly finish with 90+ points.
I’m starting to believe we can win it.
Don’t get me wrong we are definitely 3rd favourites but I’m starting to see cracks in both Liverpool and city and we usually go on a run where we blow teams away for 6/7 games at a point in the season under poch and that hasn’t happened this season yet

If you use the expectation that we win all remaining fixtures except for away against the top 6, Your final table would look like this:

1. Liverpool
2. City
3. Spurs
4. United
5. Chelsea

Having 3 away matches against the top 6 makes the final run in look really daunting for us. Special thanks to the FA for giving us zero accommodations for trying to open a new stadium. We had nearly all our home top 6 matches in the first half of the season.

Pep Gardiola has gone on record as saying that not only the top three can win the title so can Chelsea and Man utd! I wonder how that's gone down at the Arsenal.:)
