Anyone else see that computer simulation thing (On Sky I think) where the churned in the fixtures a shitload of times and it comes out with us having a 6% chance of winning the title? The likeliest scenario was us finishing third. Like we needed a simulation to tell us that :D

I've used this one for the last year. It seems the statistics are in our favor in terms of top 4.

So back to top4/title race...

At the end of the season you really want to be playing mid-table sides who have nothing to contest, during your run-in.

Interesting that Liverpool have quite a few games against teams that could potentially still be fighting relegation, during this period:

Starting from the 10th March to the end of the season they've got Burnley, Fulham, Southampton, Cardiff, Huddersfield, Newcastle.

Okay, those teams are fighting relegation for a reason (they're crap), but they'll still be tough games.

In the same period City have got Fulham, Cardiff, Palace, Burnley,

And Spurs have got Southampton, Palace, Huddersfield

Not sure how this dynamic has played out in the past (i.e. in practice, is it better to play mid-table teams at the end of the season), but I thought it might be an interesting talking point.

Check out our results from the last couple of months of last season. We did indeed beat the mid table teams; Newcastle and Watford for example but drew (Brighton) or lost (WBA) to those who were battling relegation at the time (or endanger of being sucked into a relegation battle). So yeah, based on one season I'd say its best to play mid table teams.

Interesting. According to those predictions we have a 60% greater chance of winning the Champions League than we do the Premier League.

True, but the Premier League page was updated on February 4th at 5pm, so before Liverpool's draw at West Ham. That would mean City's probability of winning the league would be much closer to Liverpools, and ours would be a little bit higher too by now.

edit : or maybe those ****s are americans and that's local west coast time, and now this post doesn't make sense anymore ? figures..

Yeah, I think that is American time. If you click on Matches, Liverpool's game against West Ham is updated.

God if we don’t get a result in our next 13 games this place will have more up and downs than a porn star.

I wished I wasn’t so addicted to SC, I can feel the meltdowns approaching

And it will all be the little rich dwarfs fault:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Well considering we’re in a title race atm that we have no business even being in, i’d hope there’s not a meltdown.

You say this but there will still be people saying we lack bottle for not doing the thing that everybody was adamant we couldn't do.

What do we want tonight people ?

Goes without saying that we don't want Citeh 5 points ahead of us. But could the psychological effect of Liverpool dropping to 2nd be worth it ? And with Citeh still in 4 comps are they more likely to drop points from here in. And does it out us back under the radar somewhat ?

I want City win. On the basis of what you said; keep us under the radar, keep pressure on pool.

City win, more pressure on Liv with the added bonus of them getting wound up that Everton didn't try even though Everton on their best day would struggle with this city team.

This is exactly my thoughts. When I say that I get "are you stupid? Surely all spurs fans want city to lose"

Plus a city defeat or draw then there's more talk of us winning it which brings its own issues as we all know

I understand the pressure thing, but Liverpool are already feeling that, if city go top now they might well not look back. Overtaking both is a tall order and we need them to drop points at every opportunity.
