Arsenal have Brighton at home too. After last night I’m not sure it will be a walk in the park against them. If they don’t get an early goal then they will face the same problems as us. We almost need Brighton to lose against Newcastle to focus their minds in that game. If they don’t and they are safe then it will be a totally different match.

But if they beat Newcastle they're still not completely safe so will defend for their lives. If they lose to Newcastle they'll also need a win if Cardiff beat Fulham so much more likely to open up and attack to try and get 3pts

Think tonight proved everyone of them will be tough.

If anyone didn’t believe that before last night then I’m not sure they understand the game. The games will be difficult for us, especially without Kane. I suspect last night would have been easier with him playing. He offers so much more than llorente.

Will be interesting to see how we kind up against West Ham.

I just want it confirmed asap. Everton are completely transformed lately, I don't want to be sweating on having to beat them on the last day.

Last night was always gonna be ugly as Brighton parking the bus was inevitable. We got through it with the 3 points which at this stage of the season is all that matter. I’ll gladly take an ugly 1-0 win again in the 88th minute on Saturday although I suspect West Ham will be far more expansive. Will be interesting to see Poch’s team selection for this one with ajax on the Horizon. He can’t go as weak as he did against Huddersfield as this lot will be bang up for it.

I have this mental picture of them all getting those little trophies like an under 8's team awards night if they turn us over.

Don't want it to come down to it but Everton at home on last day of the season is very winnable on paper. Guess it depends on how exhausted we are by then.

Need City and Wolves wins tonight.

If that happens, without being complacent, we're essentially there IMO.

This might be a stupid question, but...

Is there a scenario where we finish 4th and don't get in the CL? For instance, if we finish 4th but Arsenal or Chelsea win the Europa?

No - if a team outside top 4 wins the europa (or champions leg for that matter), an extra space in the champions league is theirs...

The only silverware they are ever likely to win. Two bob mugs. Probably have an open top bus parade if they do us like they did for the inter two bob cup (that may or may not have actually happened btw ?)

I hope Manure lose tonight but in all honesty I think the worst thing for Man Shitty was for the abject performance by Manure on Sunday... Manure will come out to prove a point and get a point or three...

Not now United are out the CL. Would have required two teams finishing out of the top 4 to win both the CL and EL.

It could still happen to Arsenal or Chelsea though as we could win the CL and one of those two win the EL whilst finishing outside the top 4 along with us.

E.g Arsenal would miss out despite top 4 if:

- Arsenal finish 4th (not 3rd)
- Us and Chelsea finish out of top 4
- We win the CL and Chelsea win the EL

Extremely unlikely but possible. It's much more likely to happen to United as i'd imagine in a scenario where us and Chelsea were out of the top 4 then Arsenal would be 3rd.

Ideally then we want Wolves and City to win tonight.

Us to beat West Ham Saturday lunch time.

Arsenal to get beaten by Leicester.

And United to draw with Chelsea?

That would mean...

Spurs 73pts
Chelsea 68pts
Arsenal 66pts
United 65pts

Would guarantee top four and mean one win in the last two guarantees 3rd.

In the sense that there would be a bigger gap between 3rd and 4th, yes. But we wouldn't be guaranteed of CL football by that.

Would put United and Chelsea both on 67pts, 6pts behind us. If they then both won their remaining games and we lost both, and you had the necessary swing in GD we could miss out.
