Can someone clarify something for me please, quite a few have mentioned about top four but isn’t it imperative we finish 3rd to safeguard Champions League?

If Arsenal finish 3rd and we finish 4th but Chelsea win the Europa (or visa versa with Arsenal) and we don’t win the Champions League wouldn’t we be knocked out?

If that is the case I think the game against the Spammers is a must to win, but then again I could be totally wrong and need to go back to lurking ?

No. Top 4 in league are aguaranteed CL group stages. If Chelsea or Arsenal win Europa then English clubs get an extra 5th place.

In that case we would be relegated to Sky bet league 2.

That’s correct. The only way 4th would not get CL is if both the CL and EL winners finished outside the top 4. That is now only possible if WE finish outside the top 4, win the CL and Man Utd finish inside the top 4. That is very unlikely.

No, we’ll be fine in fourth. They’ve changed that rule since it screwed us over last time.

Love the avatar by the way.

The 50/50 is a joke. Everything is 50/50 you either do or you don't.

What i was saying is there are too many variables to put a figure of 97% on it. Eriksen could eat a dodgy kebab tonight, toby might have a bust up with his mrs etc...
97% is only accurate for the statistics they enter, not real life. Chaos theory comes into play and means that the outcome can be totally different.
This is not to say that we aren't highly likely to qualify now though. We will be massive favourites, is that figure 97%? Nobody knows for sure.

Unless you're talking about me getting laid any time soon.

All that is needed is for us and Leicester to secure wins this weekend for us to have CL next Season, irrespective of all the remaining results of all the other affected clubs until the end of the season.

I love how someone has to explain this on here every day.

We score in the 88th minute to win
a must win game
Arsenal and Utd. lose again.
We are clear in 3rd
protected by our goal difference

What's gone wrong?

This would be awesome as then we could rest a lot of players before the CL SF second leg.

Simply put if we win and arsenal don't win top 4 is guaranteed barring a massive goal swing

So it doesn't matter what happens in the United v Chelsea game

It may only be an 8 goal swing if we win by one. Not guaranteed...2 goal defeats for us and they could do it.

Nothing (everything... the FA are out to get us... Mike Dean is being rolled out as we speak)

All a bit too easy isn't it ...

It feels to me like we're in a totally bizarre situation where all of our rivals are handing us what we want on a plate. This must be what it feels like to be an Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea supporter. How many times have we had something snatched away or shot ourselves in the foot and yet this current run really couldn't be panning out any better. Surely this sort of stuff doesn't happen to Spurs - it feels like a dream. A couple of weeks back we were sitting ducks but it seems that everyone around us has bottled their chance simultaneously.

I reckon we deserve it too - that bit of luck.

Of course it does, but people are just blind to it when it does happen to us.
Its called form, a month ago we were horribly out of form while our rivals were in form, and they all caught us up.
Now the tables are turned and it all seems to be going our way.

To be honest I agree with you that we can win both and I do like to beat West Ham but where I think we have some leeway is that it's not desperate to the point of risking any borderline fit players, we've given ourselves some scope so if necessary we should take advantage of it. We can lose a game and still not be caught for third.
Chelsea and/United will drop points when they play each other and Arsenal will be lucky to win one of their last three games.

It's imperative that we beat West Ham to maximize our chances in the CL.

If you consider Man Utd would be favourites to beat Chelsea then if we beat West Ham we will all but guarantee Top 4 finish.

6 points ahead with only 2 games to play...
