Too true , maybe next summer when his buy out clause is £80M :bang: .

For Falcao look at Aguero stable doors and horses spring to mind. Could of tried for these last summer but decided to stick with Defoe Crouch Pav etc . We got what we deserved to a degree in the end for not upgrading when we had CL on offer .

City have hardly stood still i know they got more money than sense but picking up Dzeko and Aguero is a fucking masterstroke

Falcao was the one I wanted, along with Adebayor

Oh well, 1 out of 2 isn't bad I guess

To be fair, last summer our strikeforce had just performed wonders to get us into the CL. It wasn't really seen as needed to be improved.

That said, we should have done it in January.

£30m + a player is a bit steep. I could see us stretching to £20m, maybe 25m if we really wanted him, but we were never going to match an offer like that. Pity.

Yes, pity.

Can only feel he'd have been worth it. If true, watch him tear up la Liga this coming season

I'm sure if any team had the resources of city they'd do the same. City are not comparable to anyone, bar Malaga, PSG, and Chelsea. Lets see how they fair with financial fair play.

I doubt he'll tear up La Liga. As good as Aguero is, he couldn't make Atletico into any kind of force there. Falcao will do well, but Atletico will still finish mid-table looking for a top 6 finish.

Your prob right but you can't fault them for trying. Signing Falcao, and prob Osvaldo too, is a massive sign of intent IMHO......

Didn't we offer £30M + on 3 strikers in January or was i dreaming . .

And there was no way we were gonna pay top wages like we are to Adebayor

He'll do well there but Atletico's problem has always been in defence.

Eek

The forward will reportedly join los Rojiblancos for a fee of €40 million plus €7 million more if incentives are met, smashing Atleti’s transfer record.

Personally I see that as too much for Falcao, he's a great finisher but a player that needs service. I don't see him as a player like Aguero or Forlan who can create their own chances but still will be a great signing for them if they can strengthen other areas too.

That fee. Wow.

Porto get some great business done for themselves (eg. Lucho Gonzalez)

Porto always does this, they are the envy of a lot of clubs concerning transfer fees.

Yep great player too much money though. Such a shame he was the guy I wanted us to get but after seeing that fee it is clear we would never have met that asking price.
