Ahh shit. Why did you have to go rafa??? If still take him back just to have him around the club. Apart from Klinsmann I don't think a player has ever become a legend so quickly.

Reading that he tried to come back this summer before signing for betis is heartbreaking.

He (or anyone) can't say he was wrong to leave, as it was right for him at the time. He wanted to settle his family in Germany, and he saw problems with the way the team was going.

Just how shit was AVB with the players? What a pillock. Should have built the team around him. We'll not get a player of that effortless quality again for a long time.

His finishing was epic, rarely thrashed it in. Does prove too that not all players need to be sexy to be effective based on the amount of times you here the words "crouch..... VDV!!!!" in that video. Crouchy played his played.

Also good to see that even with Bale, Vdv and Modric that we still needed stoppage time to equalise against stoke at home!!

I don't watch football for great athletes or tactical choreography, I watch it for players like Rafa. I'm still gutted he left.
