Absoutly loved the guy. But his legs went towards the end of our time, and he couldn't manage 90 mins. He wouldn't survive 10 mins in Pochs system. We had a wonderful 2 years with him though.

It was his girlfriend who got a new job and wanted to move wasn't it??

Now he's split from her isn't he??

Lesson to be learned.

This makes me sad, even the players knew how close we were to really doing something great with that side. You truly felt we could beat anyone with that team. If only we had signed a striker the year we got into the CL, both Suarez and Dzcko were available that year We baulked at 26m for Dzeko and instead decided to spend the same figure on Soldado a few years later. Sad, sad, sad. The following year when we were challenging for the title we signed Nelsen and Saha when Cahill, for one, was available, Jesus wept.

Sad he was only with us two years, but they were a great two years. Fantastic player. Always scored against Arsenal as well!!

Oh man, I was SOOO happy when we signed him. i remember the moment on deadline day when SSN reported the deal, I was beside myself.

Thankfully he more than lived up to my expectations and was an absolute joy to watch.

We'll always have the memories Rafa you beautiful man.

We should have gone back in for him, 10 minutes from Rafa is better than the 90 minutes from some of our our players.

Rafa would have been a smart purchase: 2 year contract, experience for the younger players, loves the club but I can see why the club would not want him back.

My highlights were his breakaway goal against Villa where he finished off a counterattack by passing the ball into the corner from the edge of the area, his goal against Inter Milan at home and his equaliser at home to Arsenal and "shshing" the away fans. Actually every minute he played against Arsenal was sublime. Great memories, we should have won things with that side.

If Levy had twisted instead of stuck at the height of that period we could have won the league.

The best stadium in world football is the least he owes us.

The infamous Saha/ nelson January when we could have got Suarez?

Suarez
Bale, vdv, Lennon

would have won the league. for Def.

"And Harry [Redknapp] — he was like your dad. I would give everything for that man; I was really sad when he left. I think the England job would have been the best job for him and also for England."
