Ramos likes hard workers and attacking minded players, but he's no mug - i doubt we'll see him start fielding youngsters just because he rates them unless they've proven in training that they know what they're doing.

I'd go for:

Cerny

Chimbo
Lee
Dawson
Kaboul

Lennon
Bale (if fit, if not, Steed)
Teemu
Malbranque or Huddlestone

Keane
Berbatov

The bench is unguessable as we have no idea what direction he wants to take, who he rates as "ready" etc.

I still think he'll be a big Teemu fan - he works so hard he cannot be ignored, as is the case with Malbranque who offers us much more across the middle, able to give it everything on either flank, but who i still see as more dangerous in the middle.

We'll see.

It's certainly worth remembering that in last season's UEFA tie for all the tactics this and fitness that, the key decision was that most ridiculous penalty ever. Without that we may well have won 1-0, I'm sure we would have drawn and then the Lane game was a different affair.

Indeed from memory Seville's second goal came from a harsh free kick against Lee, and the ref blatantly favoured Seville all night.

That is very true, we actually created enough chances to win both games but it wasn't that I was looking when watching those matches, it was the quality of Seville's football. They were a class above us in terms of movement, passing and ball retention.

What should also be remembered is that we have better players and more resources than they do. Berbo and Keano are better than both of their main strikers and Bale and Lennon are better than their Seville equivalents as are King and Dawson/Kaboul. In addition they can't call on Defoe and Bent from the bench.

The main point though is that it is not just about players it is about the way a team is set up to play. If he can get our superior squad, with the resources to make it even better, playing anywhere near the level of Seville we will be in business.

I for one think that he will have us playing like excellent football within weeks.
