lol just saw this in The Times. If true and we do get him (a big if i reckon) it could be exciting watching Spurs play. Saying that Jol did give us some memorable performances.

Not since Osvaldo Ardiles thrilled White Hart Lane by playing with five forwards in 1994 will Tottenham have had a manager who is so committed to all-out attack. Ramos loves the beautiful game so much – “my ideology is always to attack, to entertain and never to spoil a game,” he said – that as manager of Rayo Vallecano six years ago he deliberately reduced his team to ten men as he was unhappy with his players coasting to a 2-0 win.
“The players were not trying, so I took the drastic step of taking a player off as I wanted them to work,” he said. “We played with ten men and won 2-0. I knew I could have been killed by the press and the fans, but I wanted to teach the players a lesson. I was so fed up that I had to do something.”

He waltzes in without his DoF and with OUR current squad available. I'm inclined to think the opposite, really. We'll see how it goes.

Woohoo. Guess what? Whatever we achieve this season is irrelevant, because it is a transitional season.

Just what we needed.

 if he tried that at Spurs, we could end up with about 3 guys on the pitch. Poor Pascal will be hauled off after a minute every week!

Well said DC

A level head amongst total hysteria.

COYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers Legend - what counts is the club, there's far too much cult of the personality re the manager these days

I've been sick and tired all season of the media portraying our problems so often in terms of Jol this, Jol that, it's our club - it's our club that's suffering - especially we the fans.

The media simply love putting pressure on us, so I have no time for most of them

Source credibility aside. MJ, during the August debacle, managed to find a positive in that if we were at Sevilla , maybe we were signing their director of football? Here's hoping, adios Comolli(please).

F365: The Sun reports that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy contacted Ramos after their 3-1 defeat to Newcastle on Monday, and told him it was 'now or never if he wanted to take over'.

Indeed, Ramos' technical director at Sevilla Ramon Rodriguez Monchi was in London, and at the game against Getafe on Thursday negotiating the switch.

This is what The Sun makes of the man who is thought to be on his way...sounds positive...

'Think of Arsene Wenger, throw in a bit of Alex Ferguson and mix it up with Jose Mourinho - and you get Ramos. For the players he is a mentor, a teacher, a man who loves spectacular, attacking football like Wenger. Go out of form, take your eye of the ball and you are dropped even if you are Beckham or Van Nistelrooy. Work your socks off and you are in the team for good - just like Sir Alex. If you need your manager to be a leader, a friend, a confidante - just like Mourinho - then Ramos is your man' - The Sun.
