I could have sworn both goals came from Davies's side....

I guess it depends how you look at it.

The goal scorer was cutting in from the Sheff Utd left wing (our RB) so he was Walker's man, both times.

The crosses though both came from their right wing (our LB) so were arguably for Davies to stop. That said, the cross from their RB on the first goal came because Eriksen had to sprint across from central midfield to catch him and didn't get there in time and the cross for the 2nd goal was more down to Verts as he was engaging their attacker and he went to ground too early, allowing the cross to be clipped in.

We played better last night than we did with 442 and Townsend last week. Made more chances and scored more goals. And we were away.

Strange comparison.
Maybe the opposition played better last week than they did last night?
Maybe we are just way better when Harry Kane plays as our uber striker?
Maybe playing Adebayor as your striker means that the team is really only playing with 10 men?
Maybe making Adebayor captain had an adverse effect on the rest of the team?
Maybe we just like playing in snow?
Who knows?

Yeah, bizarre to compare two games in seven days against the same opponent.

Yeah, bizarre to compare two games in seven days against the same opponent.

So everytime we play that system with those players will give us the same performance and result.
So all we need to do is play the same players and formation that we did in the 5-3 win against Chelsea and the result will be the same.
FFS someone get on the phone to Poch right away.............the cup is ours!!!!!!!

Ah yes, that game. How can you use that to justify your opinion on Ade+Townsend while also having the opinion that Lamela isn't good?
Lamela is not a right winger. In this game he had a free role. Before the Leicester game I said I was excited about him playing on the left.
Lamela has had a couple of good performances against the lower league/EL teams but has flopped in the EPL playing on the right.

Kane, Eriksen, Dembele and Stambouli were all excellent. Mason/Stambouli is becoming a very good midfield two for us.

Outstanding:

The Great Dane
The HurriKane
Mason (I really need a naff nickname for this lad now...)

Very good:

Constantinople (er.... Istambouli :cautious:)

Can't be arsed to go through the rest, no one was awful.

I'm not sure using a terrible Greek team is a good example. I'm pretty sure our youth team would have beaten that lot. I get your point, but I don't think they way things stand now it would work against anyone half decent. Don't forget back then Adebayor hadn't fallen out with the new manager.

Still no proof that he has fallen out with the manager now to be fair...

Be that as it may, there is a reason Adebayor does not play and imho opinion a 442 system with Adebayor and Townsend is PL suicide at the moment, which is what my original comment was in response to @prawnsandwich

And I agree with the notion of that too, I don't like the setup of a 442 with Townsend and Adebayor either, I'm just saying don't base it on internet fantasy.

Well I am interested in a counter theory if you have one...?
